Dakota
How well do they work for rainbows? Particularly land locked lake rainbows? We have a new family park lake in the area and GF&P released 7,000 adult rainbows in there last fall. I fish the Black Hills ever summer and have caught them fairly easily on Power Bait, but I thought I'd change things up and try some salmon eggs. Do you rig them the same on hook, weight and bobber? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! Dakota
woolybear
No current...not too good bud. Better off with action baits.
Turkeygirl
Back in April, the rainbows in the lake here were hammering steelhead egg sacks we tied up....A friend was slamming the fish and had a heavy sinker on hence it was literally sitting on the bottom and the rainbows were hitting. Try and see if it'll work for you, don't know if ya don't try!

LifeNRA
No current...not too good bud. Better off with action baits. Thats kind of what I think too. Why not just get a bunch of lures. Rooster Tails and Kastmasters! Get a bunch of different sizes and colors. Make sure you have a 1/4 ounce Kastmaster in silver and blue! I catch rainbows as little as seven inches with this lure! But the big boys will hit it as well! KO Wobblers and Little Cleo's are also a good one for lakes, as well as other spoons. Ditch the bait! Go artificial!!! ;)
ruttinbuc
They do work best in current, but fish are fish are and fish eggs are fish eggs. Fish naturally eat them no matter where they find them. I have had great success with eggs in lakes and reservoirs
