Gator
Found some of this over the weekend, and bought some yesterday for shooting snakes with. A little pricey, but I like the fact I can carry my pistol and not my shotgun! I was concerned with how they would cycle, if at all, but they did, and even got to try them out on a copperhead last night, and I am pleased to say the least!!! Think I found me a ne snake killing combo!

Gator
Sweeet.........I've got some for my .40. Coons don't like them either. That's next!!!! I forgot to take the safety off last night, if I use my Glock, I don't have that problem!
Wobbly_Alaska
i use them in both my .45 and .44 the .44 gets a little better range about 20 yards max and the .45 is good to about 15 yards... the rifling in the barrel makes the shot spin to fast and spreads out quickly... not sure about using them on much larger then a squirrel or grouse as they typically have #8 shot in them or smaller
Gator
These are strictly for snakes. Don't plan on using them for anything but!!!
bluelund79
Glad they are working well out of your gun. My XD40 didn't like them too much cycling wise, what brand are yours. I may have to give them another shot if they are using some hotter powder now...

hutchies
That's next!!!! I forgot to take the safety off last night, if I use my Glock, I don't have that problem! Actually 2 coons got one a piece last night. Armadillo got a .17 hmr and the opossum didn't slow down long enough for a shot. It's that time of the year. Gator
Does it kill the coons? Or just run them off? What kind are you shooting, and in what gun?
hutchies
Smith and Wesson Sigma series...........Just peppers their butts. They like to tip my trash cans here at the house. If I shoot them and they come back then the .17 comes out. Which as dumb as coons are I don't know why I give them a warning. Most times they come back. Neighbor let me borrow a live trap last night to use. Gonna see If I can get the dang opossum in there.
Strut10
If you reload, you can buy the empty Speer shot capsules in .38, .44 and .45 and roll your own. Anything much larger than #6 or # 7 1/2 shot doesn't leave much room to fit any number of pellets in the load. #8's or #9's seem to be the best fit. The rilfling does really deteriorate the shot pattern. 10 or 15 yards is the outside useful ange for the killing of stuff. But you can usually get way closer to a snake than that. The .357 Magnum seems to actually pattern better than the .44 Mag/Spl.
