Thank You, Lord

As you know, i took a loaded trailer of building materials up to Alaska 10 days ago. It's a 4 day drive, but we decided to take 5 days and see some friends. Well, on day 2 about 50 miles short of our destination, I see my spare tire rolling down the highway. It wasn't my spare. I'd broken an axel!

Well, my mechanical ability is as close to zero as humanly possible, but I do know trouble when i see it. I was pulled over on a desolated 2 lane road with nothing around except 1 house 100 yards away, so up i walked. The first thing out of the mans house was "you're broke down, aren't you?" Yep. Then, he asked if I was a christian. Strange question, but another yep. To make a two day story short, the man and his son drove 60 miles back to Spokane, got me an axel, and put it under the trailer. I was there to pay for the axel, of course. It got dark, so they fed us and put us up for the night in their home. Next day, from 8am to 2 pm, they finished the job. When it came to the "how much?" part, they said nothing. We said our thanks and had a prayer, and off we went with no more troubles.

Of the 1951 miles we put on getting up to Alaska, I just have to believe that the Lord had my breakdown right in front of the best house for it to happen. Thank You, Lord. :)

And yes, of course, I did leave him some bills for his church.

we're back in ketchikan, leaving in 2 hours for prince rupert. then, 4 days drive home, one more medical treatment in Colorado, pick up our camper in Gillette, and back to Alaska for the summer. Getting online may be a bit tough for the next couple of weeks, but we'll see....

Praise the Lord indeed. :):)

Things like that always seem to happen to me too. Most(99%0 of my major breakdowns have either been in my own driveway, or in the most convenient place the Lord could put me. It's reasuring to know you're being looked out for isn't it buddy.

Praise the Lord !!!:)

Wow! When I heard that you had broke down, I was really distressed for you - but no need.:D If you have to have troubles along the way, it's sure nice to find folks who help so much in a time of need. They sound like wonderful people and its good to find out that things worked out well for you.

I burst a brake-line in the middle of a snowdrift in my driveway trying to rock the car back and forth to get out :angel2: Very humbling...but still very funny

You're lucky it happened where it did Steve and had such a great family to help you out. I'm sure there's some long ole lonely roads in Northern BC, Yukon and Alaska that there'd be no help of any kind for miles. All the best to you in your travels, hope everything goes well for you guys.

Very touching story. The Good Lord is working in all of us everyday.:)

Folks just need to stop and realize everyday and everytime we are blessed. It's more often than one realizes.
