Swamphunter
I am in the market for a small concealable handgun for work and off duty purposes. Preferrably .40 cal as I stand knee deep in that stuff here at the house due to work. What do you guys recommended.... for concealed carry
Strut10
Have a look at the Glock 27. It's a sub-compact .40 S&W with 9+1 capacity. Very nice gun to shoot, indestructable and superbly concealable. Did I mention microwaveable, too?? :D

bearcat
The Smith and Wesson M&P Compact and the Springfield XD Sub-Compact are also excellent choices. These can be had in 9mm, .40 cal., I am not real sure but maybe even .45acp. I have the full size versions of both of these pistols and they are both excellent quality. m gardner
What do you carry on duty? If they offer a subcompact model with similar controls I'd go that way for sure. Mark Edited May 9, 2010 by m gardner
Hoosierbuck
First m gardner has a great point, second-the baby Glock is on my ankle all day every day in a Renegade ankle rig. Nice set up and I highly recommend. HB

snapper
Did I mention microwaveable, too?? Dishwasher safe as well...lol There are alot of "good" guns on the market. I prefer a 1911 style .45acp. Para makes a great gun...they make some small compact .45's in a 1911 frame.
johnf
I've got a buddy with an xd subcompact 40. It's a good little shooter. I'm a Glock fan though. The 27 is a nice shooting gun too.

Mine mostly rides in my Blackhawk CQC Serpa holster.
bowana
I use a middle back holster (Galico) with my Glock Model 33 (same as the mod 27 but in .357 sig) great rig. I have a glock woks quick reset trigger and a custom KKM barrel. When you trick these baby Glocks out......they can't be beat. P.S. I love 'em but they are JUST ugly. I have several other pistols, but the Glock/Springfields XDm's engage threats as fast as any pistol on the market.
