92xj
Well, I would answer, but I don't see the "Yes, it's a problem but I don't think we are screwed" option to check.

92xj
Don't let technology get the best of you, it's confusing!!! I say Yes we do have a problem, but not screwed no matter what. I dont think it will ever take over the country or area where we could not enjoy the area it is covering.

Tominator
Serious problem for certain species. It won't happen in our lifetime, but the world is headed for one big amalgamation. I sometimes think the lack of diversity scare is akin to the global warming hype. Don't really think it will affect us too much, but who knows? Ethan Givan
Major problem for sure, but I dont think we are screwed. Not yet anyway.

Ethan Givan
What the crap is a snakehead? Its a type of fish that originated in China I believe. They are very invasive and they decimate native fish populations. The worst part is Im pretty sure they can crawl short distances across land which allows them to move from one body of water to another. They are bad news if they get into our local ponds, lakes, and rivers.
RangerClay
Invasive species have been ruining things since the Pilgrims landed. Just look up the genius and species name for the starling. The common sparrow is responsible for hundreds of native North American birds to go extinct. This is nothing new. Just another way man is destroying Gods beautiful handywork. stevebeilgard
we're not screwed, but we do have a problem for over 40 years now. we even have a feral horse & burro problem in lots of states. yea, i said feral. there are no native horses or burros on this continent. we brought them and the "wild" ones are simply a feral invasive specie. elkoholic
Invasive species? Oh yeah...the Californians are really starting to ruin Montana.:jaw: On a more serious note, the threat of non-native species overrunning native species and/or destroying the habitat is a serious issue that is going to cost (is costing) taxpayers a lot of money. Kind of sounds like those Californians again.
HUNTINGMAN
They had an episode of river monsters on the animal planet a couple weeks ago and it was about the snakehead. There is like 4 or 5 difrent species of them. They cought some of them and said they would eat anything that came within reach, they were catching them in Florida, but said they were spreading all o er the country. They want people to not throw them back in if the cought one, some people sell them to like Chinese markets and make pretty good money. If you get the chance to see it I would watch it,pretty interesting.

I just get sick of seeing crap in the news where folks have released pythons in the everglades, or some other exotic species that threatens native species. Seems a real problem down in some areas of Florida, really no great surprise those non native species are thriving. Was some talk of some non native species of snakes also getting out of zoos and homes during hurricanes in the past.
Orion_70
It's a big problem for sure. It's not just the animals, reptiles, fish, and mollusks, that's the problem though, look at all the non native plants that are taking over areas. Slovenia is becoming a huge problem in some lakes in La., Kudzu is always an issue, many many others.

LifeNRA
Here is one to ponder! ROCK SNOT, AKA DIDYMO! Look that one up! LOL!!! They want to ban the use of felt bottom soles. But the catch is this stuff clings to everything. Laces, boots, rivets, anywhere there is a small place to hide!
