Ohiobucks
I'm not putting 37's on my truck like Kyle is , but I am looking to put some bigger tires than stock on my 2006 Silverado in the next week or so. 265/70/17's are on there now, if I add an inch with the torsion bar adjustment, can I get away with 275/70/17's? or 285/70/17's? Or do I even need to adjust the bars? Feedback on these tires would help as well, I'm looking at the Goodyear Wrangler ATS, or Firestone Destination AT's. Thanks all! 92xj
285s should fit. They will be 20mm wider and around 8 mm taller.
Shaun_300
285's fit no problem, lots of customers have them on their trucks up here.

redkneck
285-70-17s are no problem Tom. I'd lay off the T-bars more than an inch or 1.5 inches, your turning radius goes down in 4x4 and rougher ride.... at least what I found after 5 turns on my 2000. texastrophies
Tom, I just put 285's on my truck '06 GMC and raised it about an inch in front with the torsion bars and there is no rubbing at all. Last time I had the 285's on there without raising it, they did rub on a sharp turn.
Tominator
Don't know about the size, but my Firestones have generally lasted longer than my Goodyears over the years. My '03 came standard with the Firestones, and I just replaced them last year. They had over 80K miles on them I think.
Ohiobucks
Ended up with the Firestone Destination A/T's in 285/70R17. I adjusted the torsion bars the night before I took it in, gained about 3/4" on each side. No clearance issues at all. New tires and all wheel alignment - done! hutchies
I run Firestones on all my vehicles. I've got the Destination AT's on the wife's durango. Good tires.

Pretty sure that's what my dad put on his Blazer, just in a smaller size lol He loves them, they get great traction and don't hold any mud. And that's probably what I'll put on my Jimmy when I get tires in a month or two. Nathan

Ohiobucks
How about some concrete so the kids can play ball on that rim??? Dribbling on rocks is no fun..... Dribbling on rocks builds character and skill. That and have you price concrete lately? Ouch.... Truck looks good....how you like your cover on your bed? I like it a lot. Glad I went this direction vs. another snap on or velcro cover.
