92xj
What exactly is the point of limiting the ability to edit a post to only 4 hours? Can this be changed to not have a time limit. Every other forum I am a part of does not have a time limit and they also have the ability to delete your own post if you desire. This should be changed here as well. It might actually ease the "work load" on the mods. When people double post they could erase their second post themselves or when you make a mistake and realize it 12 hours later, you could edit it. So, can this happen?
dogdoc
good question. Before I was a mod there were many times I wish I could have edited a post I made but time expired. Maybe Scott can look into this. Us mods don't have the power to change this for ya!
Shaun_300
Yeah it'd be nice if it could be changed. Hopefully Scott can look into this, it'd be a good idea.
buckee
We've always had the ability to delete our posts (or double posts), but it on the same time limit as editing.
RangerClay
One more thing. We should be able to edit the title of a post. Right now I have to ask a Mod.
Dawg
We've always had the ability to delete our posts (or double posts), but it on the same time limit as editing. That's what I was thinking.
Nut
I like the time limit. If a post gets a response and then that post gets edited then it sometimes makes the replying post look strange and sometimes moot. Maybe just a little more time thinking before posting would be a better option?

Swamphunter
Ugh Oh... dangerous ground... I suggested a "site improvement" several years ago and was met with a lynch mob on here... my good ideas and forum suggestions now remain just that.. good ideas, that I keep to myself with a closed mouth.. never again. :jaw:

Nut
So why do we even have a 4 hour time limit? Maybe so you can add a picture or make some spelling corrections? or maybe that is just the default time.
