lil hunter
Re: i\'ve never posted in here before!!!!!!!!! That call is a decent call. A mallard call can be used for practically any duck, just gotta learn how to blow it. I would strongly recomend buying H.S. Waterfowls Duck Calling 101 dvd. It's great. The goose calling dvd is great also. The duck calling dvd will explain the 6-1 call. Look for a Take 'em 6 dvd. When I bought mine, duck and goose calling 101 came free with it. huntn4bucks
Re: i\'ve never posted in here before!!!!!!!!! Buck Gardner makes good calls and the double reed call that you bought is a little more forgiving than a single reed. The 6 in 1 call is used to imitate the whistling sounds of the drake mallard, widgeons, pintails, etc. I would definitely buy an instructional video and start practicing now for next season. billkay
Re: i\'ve never posted in here before!!!!!!!!! I'd do a little research as to what ducks look like and the differences between hens and drakes. Most species have a different limit from one another and you need to know what the bird is in flight before you shoot. Hate to see your first trip end with a ticket or two. Bow Hunter Derek
Re: i\'ve never posted in here before!!!!!!!!! RNT, as well as a couple others, make some good learning CD's. I highly recommend one. Then play it in your truck while driving to work and practice, practice, practice. I get pleanty of funny looks in my driving time while I've got a duck or goose call in my hands. Duck and goose hunting can be addictive, so be careful!
