Hardwood_HD
I'm looking at an older Kawasaki 220 Bayou, the guy wants 400 for it the thing runs good but has a small oil leak. I am not really worried about the oil leak but there is a rubber tube that comes out of the top of the motor, it has a T and one goes to the front and hangs and one goes to the back and hangs neither is hooked into anything. Can anyone tell me what they are? after riding it for a few the tube started to pump exhaust out and i was wondering if this was normal or if something is majorly wrong with it?? I'm not very good on these things i was just thinking about buying it for my brother.

redkneck
I have no clue what that is. The yamaha's have online parts breakdowns and schematics. Post your year and model and I'll try to find one, or maybe one of the guys here can tell you.
wtnhunt
Sounds like it could be some sort of a breather tube to me. Would check to be sure the tube is not blocked anywhere.
Phredator
Hardwood, I just took a good look at my 1991 Kawasaki Bayou 220. It has, just as you described a crank case vent that splits into two lines that terminate open ended. Each should have a loop in them to prevent water from reaching the motor. I sent you an email. Good luck, Fred Edited May 21, 2010 by Phredator

The_Kat
Oil leak could mean fried rings I pretty sure....keep her full!
brad dryden
Could be just a gasket at the top of the the head maybe he replaced the rings or something and didn't have it sealed tight enough for the oil leak. If the rings oil rings were shot it would smoke real bad.
