col3
Like said above, the money, im not real sure of the cost because i do it all myself, not through a guide but with the amount of time needed for it to work they would have to charge some decent coin, also the equiptment, the mosquitos can be bad, ive been using my thermacell, it helps, everthing else is fairly straight forward, if ur looking at booking a hunt the outfitter should be able to tell you everything you need. Leo
Bring your own bow line and safety harness. Don't expect the guide to supply those items. If he says he will supply them bring your own anyway so you can be certain of the condition of what you will be using. A bug tamer jacket is really nice to have in the spring in Canada. You can't bring batteries in carry on item. So if you are bringing spares (which most people do) put them in your checked baggage.
redgreen
Bring warm clothes too. The weather can change from sunshine to rain or snow in a heartbeat. Also, bring a pallet of Deet.
Prairiepredator
A thermacell is pretty much a must, because the bugs will be bad. We just came back from bear hunting and it wasn't very warm. Be sure to pack some light clothes and some heavier clothing. The price for a black bear hunt here in Saskatchewan is around the $2000 area, some outfitters are more, some are less. TBow
Ditto on the bug suit, head net, Thermacell, deet, anti-aircraft mosquito/black fly artillery.....and oh ya, did I mention a bug suit? TBow
fly
Forget about skeeters, Black flies can ruin the hunt. I don't go to Canada anymore for that reason. I'm leaving for Idaho next week (DIY). Gas, bear tags, & food will run me about 1000.00 for a 10 day hunt. I haul a travel trailer. My chances are lower, but if I get one it will be more rewarding to me knowing the hunt was a DIY.
