brad dryden
I received a phone call on my cell phone from a guy asking my name and saying he was a Government Officer asking where I am from and my name and saying I was being investigated. He was foreign first off that was a giveaway he was full of it. After I kept asking who he was and where he was he kept telling me to shut up that he was at the Government Office so when I continued to ask his name and were is the office located he kept telling me to shut up. So I told him that I was a Detective for the State Police. Didnt tell him what state just so he wouldent have any info from me. Then he went on that he was going to arrest me and he was on his way and he will be their in just a few min to arrest me so I told him that I will be waiting for him and to come on down I will be waiting for him then he started to ask me what my name is again and told me to shut up. This kept going on for about 5-10min and he finally gave up and hung up. He would never give me his name or info just another fraudulent country trying to get personnel info. Shaun_300
Some people have way too much time on their hands and love to try and scare people, what a moron. I would have had a few choice words for him and hung up the phone.

Shaun_300
Yes, let's have some fun with this. Do you guys have the *69 feature down there? To get the number from the last person who called you?
92xj
69 feature down where?
Hoosierbuck
If he is investigating you, then of course he would HAVE your name and all that information, wouldn't he? I would have just hung up on him. People are so stupid. Your story reminds me of a scene in the animated kids movie, "Brother Bear" where a bighorn ram is in an all day shouting match with his own echo. "You shut up!" ("You shut up!") "No, YOU shut up!" ("No YOU shut up!") HB Oh yeah, Shawn, we are big on *69 down here! D'OH!

Squirrelhunter91
My girlfriends mom had a call similar to that a few weeks ago except the guy on the line was claiming to be from DHO (Department of Homeland Security). He said they were doing a survey. He asked her if the house had a fire alarm system. She told him that she didn't want to participate in the "survey". Who knows what question would've been next? Do you have a burglary alarm? Then if they hear what they wanted to hear, what happens next? The house gets robbed? After she said she didn't want any part of the survey, he hung up on her after insisting two more times that she answer the question. brad dryden
Well after I did hang up he called right back. After the second time he called I decided to call the number but it say call cannot be completed at this time please call back. So I looked it up the situation and it said alot of times they use calling cards so that way the number cant be traced. But here is the number that my cell phone picked up. 1-000-012-3456
92xj
My experience with a number the exact same on my cell phone is: My best friend moved to South Korea a couple of months ago with his girlfriend. They got call me all the time from their computer using skype to my cell phone. When the call comes in from skype my phone reads "incoming call from 1-000-012-3456". So, this leads me to believe it's some punk dude screwing with you using skype.

Newarcher
IMHO you DESPERATELY need to call the FBI and report this. See this thread, you aren't the only one. http://www.howardforums.com/archive/topic/628707-1.html The FBI can do a more complex trace on your number and maybe come up with something. Ashley
That's a little creepy, if I do say so myself. I'd definitely report it; who knows what this guy was a part of. You can't be too careful these days...
wtnhunt
Have not had any calls from those type numbers with the 000 prefix in a while, but have had a few in the past, pretty sure there have been quite a few known cases of scammers using those type numbers. We get quite a few wrong number calls for the local hospital and a medical center, not sure how folks get the numbers confused, but apparently it is not dyslexic dialing as the numbers are not even the same. Anyhoo amazes me how many people call and ask "who is this?" my reply is always the same "you called me!". Made it a habit a long time ago not to give out any information over the phone to anyone calling.
brad dryden
Well wants I heard his accent I knew it was probably some scam or they wanted me to buy something thats why I didn't leave the slightest hint of who or where I was. But I will check the FBI web page and see what I can do though thanks for posting it.
