Gas Grills

Post them up.

What do you have? Do you like it? What will your next one be?

Lady at work is selling her 3 year old Char Broil Performance series grill. She wants $100 for it. Reviews on Amazon are kind of mixed ranging from "put together cheap," "catches on fire..." to "excellent grill."

Anybody have this grill?

mine is a char broil and it will catch fire if you dont stand beside it the entire time.

Yep and either too hot or too cold. I've got a char broil that sits in my back yard. I'll most likely get rid of it when we move. All my grilling now is done with charcoal or wood. Much better flavor with just a little more work.

We have my parents Uniflame and I cant stand using it.

I have two of the little portables that run on the small LP tanks that I use for fishing trips when I dont want to make a big production to cook hotdogs or burgers. Gonna get me a nice Weber charcoal grill after we move into our new place.

I have a performance series grill. Would I buy another one? Probably not. Although, I had mine for about 9 years now. I replaced the burners twice, the cooking grate once. I still use lava rock, replaced that grate once as well. I have never got used to the taste with the deflectors, so I will always get lava rock. I also have the rotisserie burner, but that thing sure burns a lot of gas. So next grill will probably not have one. There is a problem with stainless steel grills, some are not, even though they say they are! Good stainless will not rust. My brother-in-law so-called stainless grill has rust everywhere it is tack welded together.

Hey,.....something I can answer well. I use to assemble grills for wall-mart and a few other stores....Most all of the grills on the market now are cheap junk....there are a few of the cheaper ones that hold up well enough but nothing great....The only and I MEAN ONLY gas one that I would suggest is the new Weber genesis e310 or e320....they are built the best, hold up the best and are really great grills. Don't mess with any of the other brands....The biggest down side to the weber grills is they run 2x 3x more then some of the other....but if you really easy comparison just go lift the lid, feel the weight of the metal the company uses...better grills weigh more.

(I admit i own a cheap gas grill cause it's what i can afford)

OH AND DON'T BUY USED...CHEAP GRILLS FALL APART FAST AND DON'T HAVE ANY REAL VALUE AFTER A FEW YEARS

You beat me to it! Why use gas when you have the good ol taste of the smoke in your food :)

Convenience. I prefer charcoal or wood for taste, but the gas grill is much more convenient.

My smoker was supposed to be stainless, however my magentic thermometer sticks to it, so I know it is not truly stainless, at least not more than maybe a thin outer plating.

My grill on the other hand is stainless everywhere that is not black. Have had some rust issues on the black where I scorched the paint off once, other than that no issues at all. Read some bad reviews on the uniflame grills after I bought ours, but have never had any problems with ours.

I have a Weber Genesis Gold series. I have had it around 5 years now, and I am happy with it.

Another vote for the Weber grills. I have a Genesis Silver C. I have had mine for about 5 years and it still works as well as it did when it was new. It has a large cooking surface and a side burner with 2 extra flip up counter tops.

Definitely not for everyone, but when we decided to build an outdoor kitchen we went with Lynx Professional Grills. They are considered one of the very best as is Viking when it comes to durability, craftsmanship, styles etc. They offer stand alone and built in units as well as accessories such as drawers, cabinets, access doors, side burners. Ours is a 42" built in with pro sear technology. We routinely cook for 25-40 people using it.
