Goinghuntin
Visited Gander Mountain today, they had a brand-spankin' new CVA Optima. One of the sweetest guns I've ever looked at. They said they would hold it for a week for me while I decided whether or not I would pick it up. Pretty sure I'll take 'em up on the offer, stainless-steal barrel model for only $250. And I love the sights CVA puts on their guns too Your thoughts? Nathan

WhiteSmoke
CVA Optima This is probably too late but I would read Randy Wakeman's article on the Optima at http://www.chuckhawks.com/optima_pro.htm If you haven't already bought the Optima, check out a T/C Omega Z5. FrontierGander
randy wakeman uses scare tactics. CVA is as safe to shoot as any other muzzleloader out there. Ask Toby Bridges about the Savage muzzleloaders blowing up, then email randy and he'll give you a story to protect savage. As of right now TC has the most lawsuits against gun failures than cva, tradtions, knight. Randy also will not touch CVA's new Bergara Barrels due to the fact that they are the highest quality barrel put on a muzzleloader today. He talks a lot of trash but when you call him out.... Prepare for a nail scratching and ear full from him. Love the New Optima! Trigger is sweet as well as the new break action button. I never really cared for the original optima's lever. This QRBP is really nice as well and super clean. 100gr BH209 - 245gr Powerbelts @ 100 yards.

Goinghuntin
Well said FrontierGander. I absolutely LOVE my CVA Optima. And I've heard that T/C doesn't recommend that you shoot anything but sabots in their guns. Kinda restricting. Nathan
hunterbobb
a brand-spankin' new CVA Optima. One of the sweetest guns I've ever looked at. Nathan Beauty is truely in the eye of the beholder. Personnally I think the Optima is one of the ugliest guns ever made. However that doesn't mean it is junk. I have a CVA that was made just before the optimas came out. I can't remember what it's model name is and it isn't written on the gun any where. The gun is my favorite muzzel loader. It is basically the same as the ultima with a different stock and an older style of breech plug. So grab your check book and head to Gander Mountain, that gun had your name on it long before you saw it. :gun2:
Ethan Givan
I shot an older Optima last year that belonged to a friend. Overall it seemed like a good gun, but I didnt like the trigger pull at all.
Goinghuntin
So grab your check book and head to Gander Mountain, that gun had your name on it long before you saw it. :gun2: That's exactly what I did And I'm lovin' this gun, I haven't looked back. I shot an older Optima last year that belonged to a friend. Overall it seemed like a good gun, but I didnt like the trigger pull at all. I have always heard that the older Optimas had a problem with a very heavy trigger pull. That was fixed with the current generation Optima, the gun I bought. FrontierGander
The new model wolf is a darn good looking rifle. As well as the new Optima.
