redkneck
Well I had a huge missing problem this week, car ran like crap. Put on new plugs and wires. Two of the plug wells were flooded with oil, so I put on a new valve cover gasket. Fired it up this morning and ran great, probably makes over 400HP now..... no, sorry too many zeros... 40HP Anyway.... I still got this rough idle, esp in gear like at a light. Whatcha think? replace IAC? Clean the MAF? Throttle body? Not a huge problem, but would like to get the hooptymobile running a little better since she's saving me $50/week in gas. Also... there's no CEL, and no codes pending.
Shaun_300
Does it have a cap/rotor setup? I forget, mom had a 94 and I think hers did. It'd be worth popping the cap off and seeing if there's any gangrene green in there. Could clean the throttle body, MAF and pull the IAC out and blow some brake clean through the port. Fuel filter would be a good thing to change too.
redkneck
Thanks Shaun. No cap/rotor. Coils are ok, I cleaned them best I could when I changed the wires. I'll try some cleaner on those things you suggested.
htephil
Try taking the IAC off & cleaning with carb cleaner...they carbon up pretty badly.
