NS whitetail
Tomorow is the last day of our 6 month lobster season. Today we landed half of our traps and will get the last half tomorow. My 5 1/2 year old son Keaton has been begging me for a month to go out lobstering fishing with me, since he had no school today, I took him out for his first venture at sea. Keaton and my Dad at 4:45 am this morning getting ready to leave the wharf. Keaton with his Poppa Keaton took over the Captains chair he is now one of the gang
Alisha
Great pics Lewis!! Keaton looks like the real deal in his rubber boots and blue gloves! I went this morning also, but my tummy didn't fair so well thanks to the fog and not being able to see land/the horizon. I was sidelined in the bunk all day and didn't even get to help. :hammer1: It's obvious that I'm a "landlubber". :clown:
NS whitetail
yeah Alisha ............. it wasn't the greatest of mornings to be on the water, thick fog and sloppy seas make it miserable for sure when you're not used to it :angel2:
Alisha
Did Keaton enjoy himself anyway? From the look of the pics it seems like he had a blast!
ruttinbuc
He fits right in, Lewis! Looks like he has the sea in his blood! I'd have been bunked up too, Alisha Edited May 30, 2010 by ruttinbuc

From the look of the pics it seems like he had a blast! He took a bunk once for about 1/2 an hour because he didn't feel well, but then he bounced right and back and was good to go. Shaun_300
That's awesome Lewis! He sure looked to be having fun! Man I'd love to go out lobstering some time. Justin has told me a few times to come out, wants me to go with him. I'm sure I'd be ok on the boat, not 100% sure though. I might end up in the bunk too for all I know. redkneck
Very cool Lewis! Nothing like those experiences to build character in a fine young man. He is very fortunate to have such a great dad/poppa.

RangerClay
Those pics warm my heart. But I cannot help but hear Jimmy Buffets song, "Son of son of sailor" when I look at those pictures.

Thanks ......................... I must say, that I love my life and I love my job............ but....... I want more for my son, I hope that he doesn't choose this occupation, there are to many stresses involved in this career, the weather, the catches, the prices......... I hope that he gets a great education and finds a great career.
