Muleyman
Well we had one heck of a trip. We each got a bear and Brandon caught a 30lb Jack fish. All of this happened on the last day too. We got there on Sunday and it was raining but we went and casted off the dock for a few mintues. We just hoped that monday would bring us better weather. We woke up on monday morning and the sun was shining so we went out on the boat and caught 3 fish that morning. That afternoon we headed out to the treestand and never seen a thing. The next morning we got up and it was raining. We couldnt get out fishing or hunting. Wednesday morning we got up and it was nice out so we went out fishing and we only caught one. So we headed out to the bear stand and waited and waited, and that day me and Branon were in the same stand, one finally came in but he left and never gave Brandon a shot. Thurday we decided we only had 2 days left so me and Brandon would sit in different stands. My dad had to be with me because in Sask you have to be hunting with someone 18 or older if you are under the age of 16. But neither of us had any luck. Well we were down to the last day and we had only had seen one bear and hadnt caught much fish. That morning we went out fishing for an hour and Brandon just throws his line out and all of the sudden he felt tugging but he thought it was maybe just weeds, until he seen it jump and thats when he realized he had a big fish. He reeled it in and it hardly faught at all, he got it up to the boat and all of our jaws drppoed, it was HUGE. We took it into shore and the guides were so happy that he had caught that and they put it on the scale and it weighed it and it went 30lbs and was 48 3/4". Now that is one big Jack fish. The guides told us that they only usually get 2 jacks over 30 lbs out of the lake each year. That afternoon we headed out to the stands and I waited and waited and finally at about 8:00 my dad taps me and points and sure enough there was a bear walking in. We came up to the bait and stuck his head in the barrel and I knocked an arrow. He took his head out of the barrel and I drew back. He stepped behind this tree so I waited and he turned and walked behind the barrel and stepped out from behind so I put him between the 20 and 30 pin and let the arrow fly. I made a perfect shot! He growled and ran. As soon as we lost sight of him, we radioed the guides, they told us to wait in the stand until they got there. While we were waiting for them another bear walked in that was a little bigger then the one that I just shot. The guides got there and my dad asked, have you heard from Brandon yet and they were like oh he's had his since 5:30. We were so happy to hear that we each got a bear on the last day. Mine only ran about 50 yards. Brandon also made a perfect shot on his bear and his ran 10 yards so he got to watch his drop.I got back and everyone in camp had been rooting for us. They all shook our hands and congradulated us. They aren't the biggest bears but the way I think of it, its more about the hunt and the memories of the hunt then the size of the animal. Heres some pictures. I hope you enjoy them! My bear Brandon's bear Brandon's pike

Muleyman
I have heard that it isnt much good to eat and the guides told us that almost nobody eats it. So I guess I wont be able to let u know how it tastes though lol. I kinda would have liked to try some though.
Dakota
You're kidding me!! You didn't get the meat? So what the heck was done with it?! My mom's family bear hunts and they've had it a lot. Apparently it tastes something like a fatty portion of beef roast. Dakota

Wobbly_Alaska
LOL way to go Brother! looks like you did better then us this year we had a way too hot spring with temps pushing over 100 in the direct sun... but here is a few pics of last weekend... on the Yukon river 12 foot zodiak... see that thunder cloud above me... I was racing it.. Man what a storm dumped nearly 6" of water in an hour 8 lb SHE fish my Step son IAN with his first ever His first pike.... I am pretty sure it is BIGGER then the one you guys caught eh?:pop: and the bear it took a month to hook up with... not our largest by far... but Ian's new name is CLICK... can you guess why? thats the sound his rifle makes when he thought he loaded it:1eye: i took my bow for three weeks and never got to draw it.... missed three bears with other guys that missed their shots and a wolf two... Ian and I are now 4/5 hunts successful together sure glad to see you guys hooked up i know how much you were looking forward to it... WAY TO GO BRO... way to go!
