clrj3514
What's the best way to do it?
wtnhunt
Best way really depends on what you like. One of our favorites here is steaks cut in thin strips marinated in Italian dressing, then cooked on the grill just long enough to get them browned. Another is veni steak fajitas on kabobs. Have done bacon wrapped a few times too.
redkneck
Like William said, a little Italian dressing is great. We usually take backstraps and wrap them in bacon and hold it in place with a toothpick. Don't cook it too long, it's best a little on the medium rare side. redkneck
This has been one of the most popular recipes on here I think Chris: http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91061&highlight=bacon+wrapped I've tried it, not bad at all. I have had lots of people tell me "That is the best deer I have ever had!" You can't go wrong with this at your next cookout.
RangerClay
The most important thing to remember is not to over cook it!!!! It will be the toughest meat you will ever eat. My backstraps are cut about a 1/2" thick. They will spend less than 10 minutes on the grill and they are cooked through. Do an advanced search for a recipe I left in this room about 3 years ago. Great stuff.
