Turkeygirl
So I was working monday for 4 hours in the morning to cover for an RN coming in late. I saw there was a new admit from the weekend, last name matched the last name of the landowner I asked permission from to turkey hunt on their land. I thought huh, wonder if any coincidence....nah. Well the medication nurse comes out while I'm flipping through charts quick before I did my assessments and said "Mr. ____________ was talking about you, did you turkey hunt on his property?" I said "oh my gosh, it must be him!" lol. When I had gone up to get permission, I talked to the wife and told her I was working over on this rehab floor. Sure enough it was the husband...what do ya know! And what is really cool is I go in to meet him, do a quick assessment and he tells me I can go ahead and hunt whatever up there, anytime! I told him well thanks, I really appreciated turkey hunting up there and he's like no, anytime, and he was going to tell his sons so they know I could be up there.. I told him well I'll let him know if I go up there hunting and he said no, don't bother, whenever I want, just go up and hunt!:1eye: I now have a nice spot to hunt...will probably take advantage during late gun season/late archery, fall turkey, spring turkey:camera:. It's one of those spots where the turkeys and deer when they disappear from the usual land I hunt, I think they go up there to hang out. Anyway just wanted to share! It pays to always do your best and treat everyone equally, because a certain SOMEONE is always watching from above...and I believe I just got rewarded:1eye:

Ohiobucks
Yep, sounds great Ruth. I had the same thing happen this past spring turkey season, except this was a property that I had hunted 15+ years ago. Still the same landowner, he talked me into coming out to his place to turkey hunt. Spent 1 morning out there scouting/hunting, the next morning out there I killed the best gobbler of my turkey hunting career. Good luck! bfletch7441
Awesome! That's what a good attitude will do for you. Hope you kill some big ones up there. Ben

Nut
That is awesome Ruth. Really cool. This weekend while at a family reunion I discovered how many have lots of land down there for hunting and such. Guess who now gets to hunt there even without asking? One cousin who never even allows family on theirs has given me marching orders for next spring to turkey hunt with them. Another did it for muzzleloader deer...and etc etc etc. The cousin I stayed with said that we will sit on his porch with a gun this fall LOL

mrswtnhunt
That is great Ruth. Too cool. We had a new patient admitted to the nursing home that I work at and I found out that she grew up with and was best friends with my grandmother. I had a great time talking to her and finding out all the "bad" stuff that grandma did when she was a kid.
