Shaun_300 Posted February 24, 2005 Report Share Posted February 24, 2005 well it has been a blast! i was at the lake up until tonight, then i came back home at around 7pm. i go back to college sunday evening on the train. i put about 400kms on the sled sure made up for lost time! had a great time, and did lots of ice fishing as well. so far this winter, we have 53 northern pike that we have caught out at the fish shack. i caught a beauty yesterday, it was 8lbs 5oz. he definetly didnt want to be brought out of that hole!! fought like heck, almost cut my hands on the fishing line when he took a run it sure was nice to see that big head coming out of the hole, most of them are between 3 and 6 pounds. there has been two 10 pounders and a 9 pounder, this winter. all in all, it is great week so far! it is mom's Birthday tomorrow, so i am going to head into Ottawa to get a b-day present, and there is also a boat/sportsman show tomorrow, so i might drop by there and do some dreaming, adding some boats to the wish list i sure did miss you guys! its great to be back! Shaun_300 Posted February 24, 2005 Author Report Share Posted February 24, 2005 Re: Finally Back to the Forums!!! this is by far the best year on the ice for a LONG time for us, we have an Eskimo Power auger that we got a couple years ago, 3hp, and it drills 10" holes. sure beats twistin that blasted hand auger!! there is 27" of ice up here right now, we should have 32-36" by the middle of march. good luck in the rest of the season mike!! you'll get'em!
