David_218
Re: Weatherby rifles Several years ago, in Washington State; my Cousin's friend let me shoot two of his Weatherby rifles, a .460 Mag. & .378 Mag. both in the same afternoon. Two shots from the .460 and one from the .378, and the .378 had the worse recoil!
AJ
Re: Weatherby rifles I had one that was stolen. It was replaced by a custom build Rem 700 chambered in 300 Wby Mag.
Guest bronco_mudder
Re: Weatherby rifles I hope you folks enjoy your guns and have fun shooting them. A Weatherby is something that has never appealed to me, and I don't see myself buying one in the future. I am kinda fond of Sakos and Tikkas, and also the Remington 700 action, but you can keep the rest of the Remington rifle, just give me the action. David_218
Re: Weatherby rifles [ QUOTE ] I heard the .378 packs quite a wallop. I would've never guessed that it kicked harder than their .460. [/ QUOTE ] The recoil, of the .460 was a BIG shove, whereas the recoil of the .378 was much sharper. Take it from me they BOTH KICK!!! Shaun_300
Re: Weatherby rifles i couldnt imagine the kick that one of those suckers would punch out i am not sure if i will get one in the future or not, maybe a small caliber weatherby for field hunting for deer, or varmints. i have a .300 wsm, so i am set for moose, so i wouldnt get a large caliber weatherby. the shells are pretty expensive too! [/ QUOTE ] YES, Weatherby ammo run pretty high! I think the .460 Mags. run abot a $100/20 and the .378 about the same. Your .300 wsm will work just fine! iron buck
Re: Weatherby rifles I love mine. A beautiful MArk V LH 300 WBY mag. The wood on the stock is outstanding. And it shoots well to! Easily the smoothest actioned bolt rifle that I own.
