And the camera is all charged and ready to snap 100's of pics tomorrow. Can't wait. On the grounds will be a P-38, P-51, T-33, T-34, AC-47 Gun Ship, 4 F-18 Super Hornets and some cargo planes. I am as giddy as a school girl hopped up on YooHoo and Pixie Sticks.

If I am lyin' I am dyin'....

I used to work in Vinings GA which is right next to NAS Atlanta/Dobbins AFB and I got to see the Blue Angels from a unique vantage point. I kept hearing these odd sounds like planes were in a dogfight one afternoon at about 3 PM right outside of our windows. I looked out and there goes an F18 right by the window....then I knew it was on.

I wormed my way up to the 18th floor of our building out onto one of the corner office verandas (top floor, unoccupied). The blue angels were using our building as a turn around point. They came so close to the the building at such a slow speed, we could see the pilot's facial expression. This was the practice run and I would say they did it four or five times over two days before the Saturday show.

It was AMAZING to see the show from that vantage point overlooking it all.

I saw them one year at Summerfest.

A couple years back, I was sitting in the living room watching a race and I hear this noise getting louder outside. I stepped out onto the front porch for a look. What do I find out is making the noise? It was the blue angels flying overhead in formation at about 1500 feet! They were at an airshow in northern WI earlier and must have been heading south to the next gig. Pretty cool!
