Goinghuntin
Just wondering what you drive and what kind of mileage you get in your ride. I drive a GMC Jimmy 4.3L V6, I usually get 16.8 MPG but last time I filled the tank I got 17.5 MPG. I guess I was driving it too nice What do you get? Rhino
According to the computer in my 2008 Tahoe, I'm getting 17.5 MPG out of the 1st 35,000 miles or so.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I get about 15 to 17 in my chevy truck Thats about what I get in my 2007 Sierra. It has that Active fuel management n it too though, so sometimes it will get up to around 22ish when it goes into V4 mode, but that is only for a short time. TBow
I have to laugh at the fuel mileage ratings they put on the window MSRP sticker on new vehicles on car lots. All the new full size pickups usually say 26 or so mpg. However, whenever I talk to any new truck owners they usually tell me they're lucky to get 17 or 18 mpg, with 14 or 15 usually the norm. The typical quote I get when I tell them the manufacturers call for 26 mpg is, "Ya right! Going down hill with a tail wind no doubt!". I was looking at buying a smaller sized pickup like the Ford Ranger, but even their fuel ratings are lousy. 17 or 18 mpg is about the max you can expect even with them. And if you plan on hauling a trailer of any sort, then their fuel ratings go right down the toilet. I did get some very promising reports about GMC's Duramax diesel ratings on their 2500 and 3500 series trucks. 20 to 22 mpg is very realistic for highway mileage from what I hear and with the fuel mod kits you can have installed for $500 or so, ratings of 24 to 27 seem to be attainable. Why in the world would I ever have considered a dinky toy truck like a Ranger or Sanoma or the like, when a full size truck that you don't have to space save in, is more economical to drive. Right now I'm driving a Dodge Ram Magnum with a 318 and mileage is terrible at 15 mpg give or take on a good day without a trailer behind me. Put my atv trailer on behind and it's 10 to 12 mpg. I'm on the lookout for a GMC Duramax and expect to have one before the year is out with luck and a few saved dollars. TBow

The Bug House
1993 Saturn SL2 4cyl: I get 41MPG without even trying. The first summer I got this car I made an effort to hypermile (No AC, windows up, parked strategically, slightly over inflated tires, ect.) and averaged 46MPG+. To this day the finish is in near showroom condition, she's fully loaded, cost me $24 a month to insure and American made. Figures they're going out of business!! 1999 Dodge Caravan 4cyl: I get 23MPG with an empty payload (rear seats removed). 2005 Subaru Outback AWD with Horizontally opposed 6cyl: 21MPG on the highway and average about 20MPG per tank. I drive my beaters far more often than this car, but the wife and kids use it locally at least every other day.

wtnhunt
My truck gets around 11-13 depending on the use. It is a 3/4 ton 4wd with a 350, so guess that is to be expected. Durango gets 15-19 depending on who is driving it. Not too terribly bad for an awd suv.
Strut10
1996 Grand Chrokee Ltd. 5.3 V-8 and all-wheel-drive 17.5 mpg locally and 20.0 mpg highway. Hard to believe that a 15 year old vehicle with 110K+ mi that is in 4wd all the time and runs like a rocket makes anywhere near the mileage that it does. Hope to keep it until the wheels fall off. 2003 Suburban Z71 5.3 V-8 and Mud Terrain T/A's 16.5-16.8 mpg locally. Haven't really done any major trips. Going to be towing a 3000 lb. boat trailer 2500 miles starting next week. I know it gets about 12.5 mpg. towing the boat over the local hills. TBow 9.8 2006 dodge ram on 37s I feel sorry for you guys that drive a Dodge. They have always had the worst gas milage. I get 16-18 around town and 20 highway. Shaun_300
2000 Silverado 2wd shortbox, used to have a 4.3L V6, 5-speed standard transmission, if I was easy on it I could get 21-22mpg, normally 18-19mpg. Now it has a 5.7L LS6 V8 from a Corvette Z06, haven't drove it yet but it'll get the same if not a little better fuel mileage if I take it easy. If i'm honkin' on it it'll drop a bit though.
