snapper
'09 GMC 2500 crew 6.0 Lt...around 14-15 MPG no matter what I'm doing with it! Looked at a Duramax...had it for a weekend and put around 100 miles on it. Averaged around 15 MPG....couldn't seem to justify spending around $9,000 more for the truck...diesel cost more and oil changes rob your account...only to gain maybe a few MPG? I would have liked to have the Duramax...but realistically, I don't pull or haul that much that I would need it and I won't keep it long enough to offset the value of the motor when it came to trade in time. hunterbobb
I drive a Brilliant Blue (I thought the color fit me perfectly) 2010 Dodge Dakota. 4X4 extended cab. With a matching fiberglass Cap. (I sleep in the back of it a lot. I have a bed set up in there that is more comfortable than my bed at home.) It has a 3.7 V6. I get about 22 miles to the gallon. Plus the satillete radio is always set to the Blue Colar Comedy Channel.
Adjam5
I get about 35mpg hwy with my 06 Corolla which I take to the city everyday, running 89 octane. My 95 Silverado 305/5.0 with 180K on it, gives me about 10mpg hwy using 87octane. My wifes 07 TrailBlazer 4.3lt, gets about 25 on the hwy and 15 around town. ruttinbuc
My 2003 Chevy Silverado 5.3 averages around 15. Better on the highway by a lot. The stop and go of suburbia kills the average..
Canuck2
I haven't checked mileages in ages, and this tread inspired me. My truck is a 1997 Ford F250 Diesel extended cab 4x4. This past week, I made roughly a 700 mile trip to the coast and back. On the way home (empty - I hauled a freezer and near a cord of firewood down), I figured I did pretty good as I got 23.5 mpg. Then I realized I probably can't play in this thread unless I use American instead of Imperial gallons.:hammer1: So that translates into 19.6. In the winter we also use a RAV4 that gets around 30 and in summer a Mazda Miata, which does over 40 with no problem, unless my wife is driving. Tominator
I drive a 2003 Silverado and it averages around 17 mpg I guess. Looking to get a Chevy Cobalt in the next month or so as my son will be starting college in the fall, gonna need another vehicle. The Cobalt is rated for 33/37. Bring back that Geo Metro. I had one when I was in college and that thing routinely got over 45 mpg. On the highway, with a tailwind, I could come close to 60 mpg. :jaw: Why can't these car makers make that car anymore? Mach1
2004 F150 4x4 Super Crew w/ 5.4L V8 -summer mileage: 16-17.5 mpg -winter mileage: 13-14.5 mpg 2001 Honda Accord w/ V6 (wife's car) -32-35 mpg I used to have a 94 Ford Ranger with a 4.0L V6 and got 18-20 mpg the majority of the time. One trip I got 26 mpg, but I think that was an anomaly.
