redkneck
I think every thing I own needs work. I got 3 vehicles, 2 ATV's, 2 mowers, 3 chain saws, and a couple of weed whackers, and I swear they all need something. No doubt you can save yourself thousands over a lifetime from changing everything from your oil to an engine, but it surely gets old working on it all. When I hit the lottery I'll pay somebody to do it all
Goinghuntin
I know how it is trust me lol My truck needs work on the front end and a new muffler. Dad's wood-hauling truck (1988 Chevy K1500-one of the best vehicles he's had IMO) needs a new fuel tank, managed to rust the thing out. Just fixed two vacuum lines on Mom's van, the crankcase vent hose and the charcoal canister purge line. Brother's truck is starting to make a small grinding noise from time to time he says, sounds like it's from the transfer case (1993 F250). And on top of it all, the garage door is broke :jaw: Nathan

TBow
It has been my experience, or maybe it just seems like it, but everytime I get caught up on personal debt, or seem to be getting my financial house in order, everything just seems to break down to put me right back into a monetary disaray. So the lesson here is, stay absolutely broke all the time, and all your gear will stay working just fine! TBow

redkneck
HaHa! I like that theory.... but I seem to be broke AND broke down usually lol. I guess I can't complain, they all run, just everything needs something.
wtnhunt
Always something to work on around here John. Seems I just cannot get ahead. Cannot afford to just buy new or pay someone for repairs either.
Rhino
Good grief John!!! Your boat's loaded. I need to get some work done on my Yukon...it's my woods vehicle. No problems with my Tahoe except I'll need new tires before I hit the road this fall. Need to do a few off season things to my 4x4 electric cart but nothing is broken. The Husky chainsaw works fine. redkneck
Well don't take it the wrong way, it all mostly works, lol. The riding mower needs a new battery and a belt tensioner, the BMW needs an oil change and is telling me to put pads on the rear, lol, Toyota is due for tranny fluid/filter change, Z71 needs a new rear end, though it's driveable, all the saws need a tune up (no biggie, I only need one occasionally). The tractor needs a new front rim on it. The only major one is the 4x4 that I need to fix before fall. I guess my point is that it's great to do your own maintenance, but it's also a full time job! Rhino
I guess my point is that it's great to do your own maintenance, but it's also a full time job! I hear ya John. For some things for sure. Others...well it's quicker and easier to pay someone else. Sometimes cheaper too. I recently had my Husky fixed (broken pull cord) at a shop that's connected to our local co-op in Port Gibson. Took the repairman 10 minutes and cost me $5 while we were there getting other stuff for summer plots. Can't beat that for a cheap, easy, & quick fix. On the other hand there are a lot of things that are just easier to do myself. There are times when I feel like the work I do at our hunting club is a full time job...well for part of the year anyway.
redkneck
I've learned the smaller an engine is, the more it needs to be cussed to run properly.
