SneakyPete
I see'em used on the tv shows all the time. Curious if many on her have used tham and had any success / stories?
Diamond Archer 01
I used one last year and the first time I used it a little spike horn came right up to it strutting his stuff. Everything did it's part besides me and I shot a little high. They are worth the money though and I will definitely be using it next year. SneakyPete
Would you mid if I asked what brand you have and if it was a doe or a buck model?
Diamond Archer 01
It was the primos scarface buck and it was an 8 point decoy. The does didn't like it very much but the buck sure did, lol.
TravisM
I've used decoys (carry-lite buck) on several occasions, love using it while rattling and calling during the end of October and first of November. I've shot a few bucks that I can tell you I wouldn't have gotten had it not been for the decoy. Last year I had the decoy up, was rattling along a river bottom and notice a big 8 point about 80 yards away. He would not come in to my rattling and calling, but he was just locked up looking at that decoy. I gave him a snort wheeze with my mouth and here he came!!! Would have been a great story had I not missed underneath him!! I love decoying though.
Guest bowhunter56
I have and used the Renzo feeding doe, with very good success.
redkneck
I can see where they would be effective, but I usually have enough deer around (bucks and does) as to not need to carry the extra baggage. For what it's worth, I seldom use a turkey decoy either.
BearClaw
The Renzo, that's the flat decoy, isn't it? And it works good?
RTF
I think for those of us who hunt out of ground blinds, it's a must have tool. The more attention you draw away from the blind the better.

buckee
I have and used the Renzo feeding doe, with very good success. Yep, me too. I have a few Renzos. Even if the deer shy away from them, you can still use that to your advantage. You just need to put a little thought into a good strategy, that makes them work in your favour. Flintlock1776
Tried 'em, spooked deer most times
Diamond Archer 01
smaller bucks weren't spooked by the larger decoy? Not at all. This spike came in lookin like he wanted to fight with the much larger decoy. It was quite a show.
mikebohio
tried a montana decoy 8pt buck spoocked the real 8 pt buck but i blame myself for bad positioning of decoy
SneakyPete
I was thinking of trying to montana's too based on price and ease of carry to the field. I just can't figure out the process of thought on how/where to place the decoy. I know the position has to be relative to my stand...but what other factors play in...also curious about how bad positioning could possibly spook the whitetail? Diamond Archer 01
I had the decoy quartering towards me because the deer usually skirt around the decoy so the buck when around the decoy and I shot at it.
mikebohio
i contacted the decoy company and customer service did a good job of talking me through it.
Straight Shooter
I;ve used the RENZO decoys with some success but some great humor in the woods. These things are very life=like until the deer get to the side of them. Nothing like seeing a fellow deer out the woods or field and try to get down wind to find out if your a cousin or not and you totally disappear when they get directly beside them because they are made so thin. LOL I've got deer on video freaking out when they got beside them, absolutely hilarious. Decoys, just like anything else will work; it's just got to be the right time right place. buckandbull
I've used the Montana saw blade style decoys and carry lite redi doe in the past. They didn't seem to spook the deer at all. But I wouldn't say it attracted them either. The only real benefit I saw was that it didn't distract the deer at times. Giving a good draw/shot opportunities.
