Warning to all New Yorkers!

As you all know, New York does not have a budget yet and is starving for cash. It seems as though the NY Troopers are fishing in grey areas for a traffic ticket. Lately they are pulling people over and giving out $250 tickets if people are leaving their trailer hitch in the receiver. There is no such law! If you get pulled over, arm yourself with this article,

I know a local LEO and she has said that if they were looking for a reason to pull someone over they could get me because I have a trailer ball on my bumper. Why you ask? If they wanted to stretch the law they could say that it blocks their view of my license plate.

I know its baloney but hopefully this can keep you from getting pulled over.

Very funny to me you word it that way Joe. About a month ago I got pulled over on my mountain bike heading home from the trout stream.

The officer said he pulled me over because someone had called claiming they saw a rifle sticking out of my back pack just up the road....or so he said. Had my fishing pole strapped to the side. Asked him if he was gonna give me a ticket for being "murder" on the fish. He kinda chuckled and let me go after he ran me to check for warrants.

Clear this time,lol.;)

I heard of the hitch thing being illegal here, too.

NY troopers were out in mass all the way through Tuesday afternoon. Only a couple had customers. Traffic was doing 70/75 mph. A tap on the brake slower when you rolled up on one.

I had the state police marine patrol pull alongside Monday on the Lake. They checked me out and gave me a safety inspection. Got a warning for no flares or distress flag. Didn't seem like they wanted to write a ticket. They did get a guy for speeding in the harbor and a cracked windshield on hos boat.

So are speeding tickets and all the other BS tickets really the best use of the police. Maybe if that's all they have to do is clock speeders and trailer ball offenders, htey could do without a few. Mean while how many real crimes were committed while they tamed all the criminal speeders.
