1995 Honda Accord SRS

Recommended Posts

I have an Accord with the SRS light on... has been that way for a while. I'm thinking about selling it so I'd like to get this fixed. I had the codes ran and says the SRS control unit needs replaced. I have it pulled and it shows Model No. 77960-SV4-A92. I've seen some on ebay, for example a new one with Model No. 06772-SV4-308. Anyone know if these models are interchangable or is there a rule of thumb to follow regarding these units? i.e. both are SV4 so it could work...?

Thanks!!! :drink:

I'll take a shot at helping. I was a Honda tech for 23 years so I've seen a ton of the SRS Control units needing replaced. Check with a local dealer to see what the upgraded control unit part number is for your car before buying any. Many times you can reset the SRS system by using the prodcedure in the repair manual and the old unit may work normally for quite awhile. I cleared the memory on my cousins 95 accord EX last May and its still working fine....worth a try.

thanks for the feedback guys... haven't had time to take to a honda dealer and they don't seem to want to give advice over the phone. I talked with a reputable used import dealer in town and the service manager gave the name of a place that will rebuild them fairly reasonable... goes by the name Roman Lazar with Legend Air Bags. Haven't had much luck finding it online, so will try to make back over there to see if he has the actual site address.

I also found a website called myairbags.com that says it can fixed any unit as well... might give them a call tomorrow.

Thanks!!! :gunsmilie:
