Adjam5
As some know...I am currently working at Ground Zero in NYC. I am working on the 9/11 Memorial. Very emotional place to work. There is not a day that goes by where I do not think about all of those that were lost on that fateful day. I view the whole site as a cemetery. I am very aware as to where I throw trash and spit. It is a Honor to work here and be part of the rebuilding and memorial process. This is the official website to check on the sites progress. http://www.national911memorial.org/site/PageServer?pagename=new_visit_earthcam Check this site often for progress of the job. There are 4 towers to be built, about 7 subway lines running underneath the site and the memorial. These are a few pics from the site. Myself and a few of the guys laying pipe before the concrete was poured. The Freedom Tower. This is the survivor staircase. This is the stairway that so many used to escape the terror that day. It will be preserved and part of the Memorial. This is one of the 2 memorial pools. The North pool. These pools will take up the old foot prints of the 2 old towers. Nothing will ever be built there again. The pools will be 30' waterfalls with the names of all who perished around the edges of both pools. One of the many pumps for the pools(water falls). This job is very slow moving and is somewhat depressing that after all these years the Freedom Tower is only up to the 9th floor. The other towers are waiting on commitments from companies that said they will lease space there. So all except tower 4 will only be built to stumps for buildings to be built when the commitments are made. Thought I'd share this info and pics. Adjam5
That is awesome Anthony. Say a little prayer there for me on that Hallowed Ground!! What have you heard of the Mosque planned to go near Ground Zero? Will do. There are people EVERY day out there protesting against that mosque being built. I am opposed to it also. I encourage all of you to frequent the Memorial website and check it out. There is also live construction cam link to view progress and details of what the site will become. http://www.national911memorial.org/site/PageServer?pagename=New_Home&cvridirect=true John(redkneck) or anyone for that matter... dbHunterNY
Just looking at the USS New York Cool pictures. I was deleteing some old emails at work today during lunch and was looking at one for the USS New York. The USS New York I supposed to be a new class War ship. It was forged from the very scrap metal that was the World Trade Center, salvaged from Sept 11th. It holds some 700 soldiers to be deployed to shore by attack boat and/or chopper. http://www.ussnewyork.com/
