Jeramie
So I tried this last weekend while we were cooking Catfish and swimming in the pool.... WOW! I picked all of the vegetables from the garden so it was even better! What you'll need: * 10 - 12 large Banana Peppers (Could possibly substitue with Chili, I prefer banana) * 3 Jalapeno * 1 Pack of Philly Cream Cheese * Milk and Flour (or fish bater) * Pearing Knife * Spoon * Hot Oil Chop the Jalapeno peppers very fine (I used a slap chop). Heat the cream cheese in the microwave for about 20 seconds to soften. Add the chopped jalapeno to the cream cheese and mix by hand really well. Cut open the Banana Peppers lengthwise with one cut. Carefully extrude the seeds and anything on the inside. Rise out. Stuff the peppers with the cream cheese/ jalapeno mixture using the spoon. Take care not to tear open the Banana Peppers beyond the cut opening. After the peppers are stuffed re-chill in the fridge for about 15 minutes to firm the cream cheese. Take the stuffed peppers from the fridge and dip in milk, roll in flower, and then deep fry in hot oil until coating is cooked and pepper starts to get soft. If you over cook the cream cheese will run out. Pull them before that happens. If youre cooking fish this is a great side recipee and you can use the fish batter instead of the milk and flour... Wow, seriously, wow... These things are great! Im cooking more this weekend for the 4th.
cinch314
Sounds good Jeramie. I bet it would be good also with some seafood like crab mixed with it.
gzilla45
Nothing like eating fresh veggies. Especially stuffed with cheese and deep fried! On a side note, are the slap chops worth buying? I've been thinking about getting one but am a little skeptical.
redkneck
Sounds great! I can't imagine milk sticking to the pepper really good to make a batter stick, seems like it would just roll off. No egg in there? I wanna try this one. I didn't plant any banana this year, but gots lots of jalapeno and bells out there.
Jeramie
On a side note, are the slap chops worth buying? I've been thinking about getting one but am a little skeptical. We actually have one of the pampered chef models. It seems to be pretty good quality and works really well. I would look for something like that before I would buy an actual Slap Chop. The Pampered Chef one really does work well though.

One wouldnt stick, i dipped them in milk with that one and it stuck after that. They were chilled so it may have had something to do with it?! Orion_70
I just cooked up a few dozen of a different variety. Jalapeno peppers cut lengthwise and seeded. Stuffed with a mixture of : 1 lb sausage, cup parmesan cheese, 8 0z cream cheese, cup mexican blend cheese. Stuff the sheels of the peppers and them lay out and bake on a sheet for about 20 minutes.. MmmMmmm Good
Jeramie
Wow.... that does sound GREAT! This weekend we were playing Guitar at my sister's house. We fried up some fresh squash (from my garden), onions, potato, and sausage together. Then I made a huge batch of the stuffed Banana Peppers... Yes... it was good again. However, I do suggest using some sort of Fish Batter. Flour just isnt quite as good.
