92xj
If oil is a natural resource, isn't this so called "leak" just a relocation. If I took a bucket of water and dumped it in the desert, would it be the same? I understand it's human caused relocation, but it's still a natural resource, right? kuntryboy
you do have somewhat of a point! it is ugly to look at and hard to cleanup. BUT what people are forgetting is oil is a NATURAL product that comes from NATURAL organisms dying ! it comes from the ground! NOT man made! if this was a nuclear thing or a synthetic produced product. I would be alot more concerned about the long distance future! Ethan Givan
Unique way of looking at it. But, what if you poured the water into the desert at the same scale the oil is pouring into the ocean? Lets pour billions of gallons of water into the desert. Erosion would happen at an unbelievable rate, rivers and creek beds would move, wildlife would be driven out, and the normal desert vegetation would drown and die. If you dump one bucket of oil in the ocean, its not going to matter either. You cant compare the effects of a bucket to billions of gallons. 92xj
I am not really comparing anything here, just using that as an example of relocated a Natural Resource. I could have said/compared, 10 days of rain in the desert which dropped the equivalent amount of rain to oil. The main point was not the amount nor the cause it was simply stating relocation of resource, Kind of a man made "Natural disaster".
