I know the specs range ata bh etc. I want, but what do you look for in how it feels and so forth. I'm looking and want to buy the best bow for me cause it might have to last awhile. I always hear buy what feels best, so how do you know whats best.
JimT
Re: Selecting a New Bow When you finally go shopping you will see. Shoot 5-10 bows and you will know. I like the feel of a certain grip. To see how it rests in my hand. How does the draw feel? Much recoil? etc....
tedicast
Re: Selecting a New Bow Shoot as many bows as you can. Let the bow pick you. You'll know when you shootthe bow for you.

snapper
Re: Selecting a New Bow I like a bow with a longer brace height and MUST be quiet. Pick a few up and feel them...if it doesn't feel good...don't bother shooting it. If it feel right...try it out. I wouldn't be too concerned about the name on the bow either...they will all kill deer if you can shoot it!
Chrud
Re: Selecting a New Bow 1 - Realtree or Advantage camo is a must for me. 2 - Quiet 3 - Low hand vibration and very littler "forward jump" 4 - Overall feel

Tony
Re: Selecting a New Bow i used to say the same thing as the other guys here .. try a bunch of bows and then pick the one that feels good toyou.. but since do shoot for Hoyt and i have shot Hoyt bows for 3 years now and im convinced they are the most forgiving , accurate and quiet bow out there.... if you have the bucks buy a Hoyt... you wont be dissappointed...... i figured that i would not say like the rest of the guys.. Chrud
Re: Selecting a New Bow Hoyt's are very good. But, make sure you have a GOOD proshop that helps you out and informs you of important things. If you do get a Hoyt, make sure your draw length falls in the #3 slot on back, prferably one of the last two. The proshop I got my XTEC from last year never told me that. I was in slot A, rather than a back one. What did I lose in performance? Someone with an identical setup, only the arrow was 3 grains heavier and his was set up in a back slot, was shooting 31 FPS faster!
