silvertip_co
" I rarely have a bad word to say about the DOW or it's officers, but I think that selling the OTC bull elk tags BEFORE all the leftover draws are done is just ABSOLUTE STUPIDITY. If the OTC tags are supposed to be 'plan B' tags then how can you sell them before the draws are ALL COMPLETED??? It used to be the OTC tags werent on sale til like August and by then the draws were done and a guy knew what he had to do. I sense your increasing need for nonresident ca$h has outrun your good sense. It's hard enough for COLORADO RESIDENTS to draw a deer or antelope tag within 300 miles of home ,let alone have to try to plan hunt trip time not knowing if the hunt will be combined or separate or if even in the same unit. I fear I must protest. " Charlie J.
colorado bob
I don't understand what you are complaining about. Take me for example I didn't draw a unit 76 bull tag------not interested in shooting a cow----why shouldn't I beable to buy a 2nd season general bull tag now? As far as the Colorado resident drawing a deer or antelope tag within 300 miles of home--------Study the draw-----Lots of hunters & only a limited number of tags & animals. Or the other solution is to move to the western slope. CB
Phredator
I'm going to have to agree with CB. OTC licenses are unlimited in number. If you feel that buying one before the Leftover licenses go on sale messes with your hunt then don't buy one until after the LO's are on sale. Or, next year when you apply, check the box that allows you to participate in the draw of LO licenses that are available only to hunters who were unsuccessful in the first draw. That way you'll get your crack at LO licenses before the rest of the public and you won't have to stand in line to buy one.
texastrophies
Not all of the OTC are unlimited this year, if I remember correctly. There are a few units in the Gunnison area that are capped.
