redkneck
Had a good trip to New Orleans, but when I got home had to go immediately to an explosion just down the road. I just walked in the door at 7:30 this morning. I think when it was all said and done, we hauled nearly 100,000 gallons of water, and educted almost 30 barells of foam. The US Environmental Service did most of the critical work around the gas fires, we mostly hauled water and pumped foam from the weaker side of the fire. One guy was airlifted with 3rd degree burns below the knees. Our county resources were stretched thin, but I think we did ok. http://www.wtok.com/news/headlines/98141664.html As you can see our sheriff is an idiot..... Goinghuntin
I like how the sheriff says the fire is contained but everyone still has to evacuate Nathan

Some of us are just the bad disc in the backbone...... Our little dept mostly filled the tankers half the night, then was on standby for hours, and when we finally started spraying foam, it was over in an hour. Was pretty cool to watch the logistics of it all though. They had to go all the way to Baton Rouge to find enough foam to spray.
