col3
Jonathan Toews brought the Stanley Cup to winnipeg over the weekend, and wow, what a class act that guy is, there was a huge parade with an even bigger crowd, and then the mayor gave him a key to the city, named the rink he grew up playing hockey in after him, and named a lake after him, he then spent the rest of his afternoon signing autographs with the public, and then with some special needs and sick kids, always liked him and seeing how humble and down to earth he is deffinatley makes him my favourite nhl player hands down. MUDRUNNER
He seems like a good kid with a ton of talent. IMO hockey players seem to be some of the most generous out of all the pro sports, especially when it comes to kids. Now, if we can just get the Cup to St. Louis..... 250savage
That's awesome. I always did see the hockey players (most of them anyway) as being the most generous and humble of athletes. Here in Pittsburgh the Pens are always visiting kids in the hospital and donating to charities. Heck Lemieux has his own foundation to help raise money for children with cancer and neonatal research. I mean yeah the Steelers do some charity stuff.. but it seems like they're mostly annual events, not unplanned visits. The sad thing is, the media goes crazy when a steeler stubs his big toe, and the penguins get very little recognition for the good deeds they do.. sorry i kind of vented there a little bit. But hockey players just seem like better people! By the way congrats on the Cup!! its a great accomplishment!
