Rhino
Hopefully we will get a nice day sometime between now and then where the heat index is not over 100 by mid morning. I hear ya William. It was really bad this past Saturday. I'm giving myself a break this weekend though so I can finish healing from the severe case of poison ivy I got last weekend. I'll check & move the trail cams around tomorrow though. 10 stands ready...8 to go. Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury to wait on favorable temps. Starting toward the 2nd half of next month I have to devote my time to camp related projects. We have 35 camp ladder stands. 15 are in bowhunting positions & your's truly has to tighten the bow stands & trim shooting lanes for them. I also have clearing roads, bushogging ATV roads, food plots, & planting on my list of things to do in September. There's just very little time I have to work on personal stands & ground blinds from late August through September so I try to get my treestands ready before then. What little time I have is saved for building my natural ground blinds after the plots are planted.
codman
Ive got a new stand Hang On in the shed waiting to be put up, just need the steps to hang it. Need to move my ladder stand for gun season to a different edge on the field and trim a few shooting lanes but other than that i will be ready for Sept. 15th! elkoholic
Our archery season starts in four weeks and although I use climbing stands I still have been out there picking my stand sites and clearing shooting lanes. Should be finished with that this Saturday. I may do a little more archery hunting for deer this year as my back is giving me fits and I may have to limit my elk hunting. Fortunately, there are a lot of straight, limbless pine trees for the climber.
dbHunterNY
Still taming the wilderness at the new house; bushhogging, cutting trees, etc. I've started to scout for stand sites. I'll probably prep them, but won't hang anything for a month.
Guest bowhunter56
Not yet, too many thieves out there, one stolen last year.
jdavis
I have 11 up so far, need to hang 3 or 4 more and clear lanes for 4 or 5 of them. I plan on having them up and cleared out by next weekend. The heat this summer has made it drag out a little longer than I like.
