IllinoisHunter
I'm thinking of switching to a fall-away rest this year, never used one. Do you all have any suggestions? I hear good and bad things, most of the bad things I hear have to do with slapping noises that can be fixed with felt, etc., inconsistent arrow flight and the arrow hitting the rest. Should I go with a full containment rest or not? One other thing that's held me back is how the arrow sits - or doesn't sit up on the rest when hanging in the tree. I'm in love with all the positives I hear though. I shoot a standard Mathews Switchback at 65 pounds.
bwana72
I'm a big fan of the Ripcord rest. I used a Trophy Ridge rest for a few years and switched to the Ripcord last year and have been very happy with it.
tedicast
In my opinion, there is absolutely no downside to a good, quality drop-away rest. If set up correctly, which isn't hard, you are shooting an arrow that has absolutely no contact with the rest. You say you are shooting a Switchback. I also shoot Mathews. All of my bows have Mathews Downforce rests on them. I've yet to find a negative. I have 4 of them. I have set up my wifes bows with Vapor Trail LimbDrivers. They are probably the easiest rest I have ever set up. It is another rest you can't go wrong with. Another really good, simple drop-away is the Trophy Taker. I don't shoot them, but know people who do, and you never hear a bad thing about them. Make the switch, and don't look back!
ksbuckchaser
Vapor Trail The ideal drop away arrow rest does not fall until about 2 inches before the vanes cross. The stiffer the launcher the more that it causes the arrow to bounce. That is why I prefer the limbdriver, but the QAD and Ripcord are great, if they are set up correctly. dbHunterNY
There's a handful of good ones. I think the QAD Pro when setup right is the standard. Just get one that works and don't look back.
clrj3514
I've got a Tiger fall-away which was on my Mathews Q2 when I got it from Kyle. I haven't had any problems with it at all. Shoots smoothly!
hunterwebb
my switchback had a wb at 1st but the past 2 years it got a rip cord on it i like the rip cord and you hear no noise
Flintlock1776
I now use a drop away rest but this seems to be even better and I may get it: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0039042417553a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCHFEAT_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntk=Products&QueryText=arrow+rest&sort=all&Go.y=0&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23&Go.x=
GWSmith
I'm shooting the QAD Ultra Rest on my Bow now and have no problems recommending them. You can set it in the up position and it's fully contained.
johnf
I'm shooting a G5 rest. I was actually pretty skeptical about it after being talked into buying it, but it has been great. It's super quiet and I've yet to have any fletching contact with it. It's also really easy to adjust when tuning the bow. After shooting this rest for a month I would highly recomend it. http://www.biggameproshop.com/2437.html The shop I got it at sold it for $65 installed and tuned. BearClaw
I use the QAD HD version and I love it. First drop-away I've used and it works great. Really tightened up my groups also! Wouldn't be disappointed with this one!
cpaddock87
Vapor Trail Hands down I love Vapor Trails Limb Driver. Just put some Mole Skin down for the slapping noise if you have it but the Limb Driver is supper fast & really easy to use.

mnwildman
If youre still looking for a good rest. Check out NAP Apache. I switched from a Trophy Ridge Drop Zone and I love it. For the price its the best on the market. IMO. Definitely go with a drop away.
