clrj3514
Why do so many of you all dislike him? Did I miss something?
Dawg
His company employees will annoy the crap out of you with phone calls if you sign up for stuff on his site. He seems to be very self centered to me. Almost feels like a Bill Jordan wanna be.
dogdoc
I always enjoyed Jackie's show Buckmaster---not so much the "Jackie Bushman Show". His magazine was good but I didn't renew because of all the telemarketing. I haven't been a member of Buckmaster for about 5 years and they still call me. Last time I seen him is when we had the old TNN channel up here, and that was quite a long time ago.
Bowtech_archer07
I don't like the amount of Mexico hunts he does and the fact that many of them are high fence. Also like the others have said, if you sign up for something on his sight you will be annoyed for months and even years. They will not stop. I signed up for the Gear Grab a couple years ago and was hounded for 5 months before I finally, in a few more words, told them to leave me alone. He just seems like he isn't genuine to me... dbHunterNY
I've gotten calls from Buckmasters membership people. I don't mind it, because it's only when I sign-up for a contest or something. I know I'm going to get the call, but do it anyway. Then when I do, if I say I'm not interested they politely end things, unlike a normal tele-marketer. I haven't met the guy to develop my own opinion of his character.
Jeramie
My wife signed me up for Buckmasters one year for Christmas. I got a handful of junky stuff for being a member... Then the phone calls started. I got call after call after call.... They even called once while I was sitting at a horse auction at something like 8:30 at night?! They tried to get me to buy some books, cook books, etc. for ever. I finally got bent out of shape with the girl on the phone. She said, "Youre not going to buy anything are you?" I gave her a few more choice phrases and the phone calls quit... Now I feel bad for people who have the buckmasters stickers on their back windows because I know they have no peace. wtnhunt
When his shows first started coming on a long time ago I thought he was ok. Buckmasters telemarketing is definitely a nuisance. We got plagued with calls from them a long time ago when I entered one of their contests. Somehow we have gotten back on their list, but they have not called quite as persistently this time around. redkneck
The calls are relentless until you just have to get ugly with them.
Rhino
Same here...the number of nuisance phone calls are absurb. He has done a lot of positive things for youth hunters though.
ruttinbuc
Jackie Bushman has been around a long time. He was one of the first to bring Whitetail hunting to the masses through TV, video and print. In the process he developed quite a following selling memberships to his Buckmasters magazine. When it is all said and done he took a lot of trips to hunt whitetails on the members dime. The telemaketing tactics he uses today are way out of line. He is a little full of himself, but he does produce some good video. His show now is a bit lame. He is and should get credit for being somewhat of a pioneer in the business. He seems to be very self centered to me. . On another note, I feel the quality of the magazine has gone down tremendously from when it first came out. The articles are lame, not very well written, and mostly just full of advertising. I was a member, years ago, and swore I would never ever ever ever buy another magazine or join again. RTPROFamily
Jackie Bushman has been a friend of our families since Randy was 16. Randy performed at Buckmasters Classic expos for about 5 years. His employes who work with the shows are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Jackie is now giving away a hunt with him and Michael Waddell and I think Lee and Tiffany also. But back to the calls. We get a call about once a year about joining and I say we know Jackie and they are like right! So, when I tell them the story of Randy performing at the classics for several years they say oh yeah I remember Randy . Then they still ask do you want a membership!! I say just tell Jackie to send us one and they shut up! I have told him before that people don't like the cold calling and he says the telemarketers do it in their own way! I told him people just don't like because I don't either. But if you have a membership the classic is the place to go. The Buckmasters Classics are very fun to attend. Lots of dealers including Realtree are there and they always have a good country singer that is free for members to see. I think all hunting maqazines are full of ads. I would rather read hunting news online anyway.
jdavis
I have been getting calls from Buckmasters everyday for the past 3 or 4 weeks; even on Saturdays. It never ends; everytime I answer the call it gets disconnected immediately. It's driving me nuts. I can't wait until I answer and there is someone on the other end I can talk to. I've tried to call the number back but there is always a busy signal. This has been going on for the past 2 years. They call non stop and then I won't get a call for a few months. The few times I answer and there is someone there I explain the situation and they promise to take me off the list. It will last for a month or 2 and then the calls start again. I haven't signed up for any of his garbage in over a year.

92xj
I dont tend to judge people or worry about their life. I have my own crap to deal with. I have no reason not to like him. He did nothing to me, people that work for his company annoy me, but ol' Jackie, nope. He's good.
