Casey
Thinking about planting some micro plots in some small areas on a small farm my uncles bought. There are a few ridges that are flat that I might cut some small trees on and put in some red clover. Has micro plots been successful in your area and has it improved your hunting? redkneck
I love to stick a small plot (1/4 acre I'm guessing) in corners next to thick cover. The kind of patch you can bow hunt and literally cover the entire field if a buck steps out. Only drawback is if you have a lot of deer they will graze it down to dust pretty quick, so it helps to follow up with ammonia.
dogdoc
yes--micro plots strategically placed can be great. Red clover is a good choice. Cereal grains can also be a great choice.
