I shot my buddies GAMO air rifle... we tried to hit these stinking pocket gophers but weren't very successful at all... I think it would be fun to have one but dont know if I would use it a lot.... Shaun_300
Re: Anyone else hunt with an airgun? i use to use an airgun back in the day, still take it out for a few squirrels sometimes. its just a little crossman, i think its rated for 500fps, i wouldnt mind an airgun like yours! might invest in one sometime. i used to have a 3-7x bushnell .22 scope on it. i had that thing literally driving tacks i shot a partridge in the head with it out of a tree. killed him stone dead
Tominator
Re: Anyone else hunt with an airgun? Used to. I gave my Red Ryder and Daisy 880 to my boys, they commonly stalk black birds and cicadas with them now.

longislandhunter
Re: Anyone else hunt with an airgun? I still have the Sheridan pellet rifle I bought when I was 14, and that was a long time ago, and that gun works great to this day. 10 pumps provided more than enough power to stop bunnies or tree rats with one shot. I"ve taken my share of rabbits and squirrels with it, even knocked a crow out of tall tree once with a head shot.
need2hunt
Re: Anyone else hunt with an airgun? Most of my Airgun hunting was done with a Crossman that took the .22 pellets. Shot rabbits, squirrels, lots of birds and lots and lots of gophers.
BLH
Re: Anyone else hunt with an airgun? I carry an airgun coon hunting to knock the coons out of trees, but other than that just shoot targets with it.
Squirrelhunter91
Re: Anyone else hunt with an airgun? But you can rarely get away with a .22 CBN in suburbia.. with a pellet gun.... need I say more?
Fiedler
I've just got 2 airguns, a .22 and a .177, I'm borrowing for a few months of my dads mate, I don't think I'll be hunting with them though just target shooting

abbie
lots of'em in the back yard ..sounds like it would be fun and challenging, especially when leaves come off the trees.
ThethirdI
I use a Gamo Hunter model. Can't remember the model number but it shoots 1000 fps. I took a squirrel at about 30 yards using the Gamo hunting pellets. I haven't tried the new pellets that they came out with that are supposed to shoot faster. I'd like to know if they really work before I buy them.
Tominator
I haven't tried the new pellets that they came out with that are supposed to shoot faster. I'd like to know if they really work before I buy them. Dartonman sent me a couple tubes of those things and they do seem to hit harder than the standard lead. I don't know if they travel faster though. They are more accurate too.

crazylegz70
I remember getting in trouble at home because I was shooting my dad's toolbox to hear the BB ricochet around the garage.....I was a little devil child.....
Strut10
Illegal in PA to shoot any wild animal with an airgun..........even rats. The hitch is that pigeons are considered domestic animals. I've knocked 4 of them off the top of the barn in the last week and a half. That's about a 45-50 yard shot and 30 feet up. With a steady rest you can head shoot them at that distance. I shoot an RWS-Diana 34 with a 2x7 BSA.
Bachflock
I seriously considered picking a nice airrifle last year. However, there are other guns I'd like to add to my collection first so I passed them all up. I was pretty lethal with a standard Crossman BB gun back in the day!
