Re: Leased hunting land

I am not a fan either....In Minnesota is pays to know good people. My best friend's dad leased out land this year for $1,000.... Yes its a good way to make some dough but at the same time when your son hunts and he can't even go on his dad's land because he leased it out... Seems stupid to me but whatever.

Re: Leased hunting land

I'm not a huge fan of it for waterfowling, that said its prob. because i dont have a lease. I can think of several spots where If i could Id lease land in a heart beat. Waterfowlers are worse than the steelhead rivers when it comes to crownds around here. I've seen more fights over blinds,sky-busting,and permission than i ever thought was capable of a bunch of outdoors men/women. Id love to lease a nice marsh somewhere where I could go sit by myself and not hear another shot or see another boat. I'm lucky to know some real great people when it comes to getting on private land, but as i get older i realize that leasing might be the only way i get a chance to introduce my kids to waterfowling in the future.

Re: Leased hunting land

I hate it. I can't stand the thought of paying someone to shoot ducks and geese. What about people that can't afford leases? What about people that can't find a lease to get into? Land that I've hunted since I was a kid is being leased and it really bums me out. I'm fortunate that I can afford moderately priced leases, but I just can't see doing it. The shooting would have to be out friggen rageous. For deer leases in my area we look at 1500.00. No way. Venison aint that good!!! I feel bad for you guys who live in araes that don't have as much public ground like we do.
