Goinghuntin
It's flooding REAL bad 20 miles north of me in Maquoketa. I guess a dam broke up-stream on the Maquoketa River and with all the heavy rainfall...well, it sure ain't pretty folks. Heard from my dad that some homes were under water, and if the town levee breaks half the town will be too. I'm never the pessimist but if the water gets any higher or stays high much longer the levee will break. I'm guessing the river is up a good 20-feet, I know the river really well and it's never been this fast or high. http://qctimes.com/news/local/article_f31967f6-9870-11df-bd31-001cc4c002e0.html In the picture that was taken during the day the water was still below the top of the dam. Apparently it's over the dam now, if the dam is still standing. A few reports say its down. The water has risen considerably since this video I found on youtube was taken. Please keep this town in your thoughts. I used to live there and there are a lot of good people that call this place home. Nathan

Shaun_300
Sorry to hear that Nate, flooding is a horrible thing. Not much you can do to stop it either.
Goinghuntin
There are a few towns around here that are under water I guess. So far Maquoketa is still standing and the river crested this afternoon. The town might make it after all I also forgot to mention I work in Maquoketa, so I hope the town can float Nathan
Tominator
Sure have had our share of rain, that's for sure. Luckily our area isn't prone to flooding. We actually didn't have any today. I know when all this rain is going to stop. It's going to stop the day I plant my new lawn.
Goinghuntin
I know when all this rain is going to stop. It's going to stop the day I plant my new lawn. Of course it is. Now that we've established that, what are you waiting for? Nathan
