Figure you are gonna get yourself a bike Kyle, just like most anyone else you are going to do what you want regardless of what some people here might try to tell you. Unfortunately with open forums like this you got to know though that from time to time you are going to get opinions you did not ask for.

Yup I know this William. Alls I'm trying to point out here is that it's this overstating of opinions and lecturing that has became a common practice here that has killed our forums. Trust me I'm not the only one who thinks this. I get a PM every other week or so from a long lost forum member, or current member here asking me WTH happen to this place. I don't mind the opinions.....not one bit. Just saw a good example of the problem....thats all.

Oh, and here's one other thing in my opinion of everything. Leave the dang religion out of post. It seems that any "serious" post will turn into some religious ordeal. It gets old.

We all have an appointment before God......

.....if you'd man up and get the 1000 you could be 5 minutes early.

Point, me.

My take on why the forums are so slow is the fact that it is summer time and there are simply put, people are tired of all the drama. :D

I watch TNT for mine!

All kidding aside, there is really nothing on these boards to keep it as active as we'd like. If you look at years past there was always something going on where everyone could be involved. Last year at this time there was a fair amount of interest contributed to getting Norm and too_pointer to Alaska. Even so, the number of people who actually contributed was paltry, We got the job done, but I think there were more watching to see how it went rather than participate. Still it brought people to the boards. I could comment on some of the negative feedback I got before and since, but we all know where we stood and what we thought at the time. We'll leave it there. :(

Active participation needs something to be active abourt! Most years there was something going on to keep people involved. The shape of the economy might be in play here. Too many other things to be worried about. We just read where one member has to give up the internet. It could be that the grass is greener somewhere else. There are a lot of members over on Facebook. There are a lot of things to do over there with the different apps and things to get addicted to. Ask farmer's Buckee and GW!!! Word is that BowTechturkeyhunter is a member of the mob and involved in a mafia war, lol. This is just an example of one website. I can't imagine where everyone may have gone to spend their time with all their varied interests.

Another thing I see mentioned is religion being brought into everything that comes through the chute. Yes, we do have freedom of religion and we all have our beliefs, but please don't take that holier than thou attitude and keep playing the harp. Not everyone is as devoted as others.

Another turnoff for a lot of people is from those who only post when they want to ring there own bell or start their own fires. You know who you are! :pop: Most forums were developed to share ideas and experiences. This one is no different. A little give and take goes a long way. Of course you can't high five and give reply to all of the threads, but turnabout is fair play. No one is above it all although some think they are.

Then there is debate. We can all agree to disagree, but putting people down and your way is the only way has given more than a few members reason not to show up or actively participate. Know it all's with an attitude are really not needed.

In the end REALTREE needs to promote interest in this website. It is a marketing tool they can expand with. They have plenty of resources that for one reason or another they don't put to use. They can bring plenty of activity just by being active with their sponsors and throwing some T-Shirts or sponsor product to the crowd now and then. Just like Vegas, build it and they will come. I don't know what happened to the PRO STAFF that are supposed to be putting some of their time into this site. I heard it was a requirement to help promote the Realtree brand. Maybe someone could correct me on that. :D

Thanks for your time. Flame away if you feel you must...:paint:

Mike points out a good point....FB has a BUNCH of forum members there and they all seem to be pretty active. You know Mike a lot of RT PROSTAFF are pretty active on FB too but not here..........

Todd, I had that in my original write up of the post. Must if glanced over it. There are some Pro Staff there who no doubt in my mind have someone else posting for them....I'll give you a guess as to which ones! :D

Well put Mike. All I am doing is watching. I don't think I will say much. :)

Yep, sometimes silence is golden, but never be afraid to say your mind, Jeremy. ;)

Best post I have read on this forum in a long time.

On topic?

Here's my opinion.

Why does everyone care so much about everyone else's life and what they do. You should only care about yours, your familys, and anybody's that effects your family. If someone wants to do something, so be it, why does it matter so much to you. Do you get a better feeling about yourself by trying to act all knowing and knowledgable about some sort of topic without really knowing the details. I know for one, i will continue to post my opinion where I see fit, untill I'm banned. If you have a problem about my opinion cry to me in a PM. I will most likely not respond and just laugh at you. People have their opinions and make their own choices. Let them deal with the consequences wether they be good or bad. To each their own. Get off your high horse and chill the **** out. Be excited for someone for purchasing an item that they have wanted for a while now.

(not proof reading, so call me out on all my grammar mistakes)

That sentence explains my thoughts perfectly.

Hey Mike!!!! I still got my post card from too_pointer and Norm!!! I jumped at the chance to help these two guys, get to Alaska and have a lifetime oppurtunity to go out to Alaska!!! I still have the post card and signed by Norm in my room!

Good Post Mike

I do agree with Kyle though.

Kyle has went to other states to support his family, I believe his mind is in the right spot. To be honest with you, all the sacrifices this man has made to help his family out in the future, he needs this bike. I also want to say, he's not a dumby, he knows the risks getting on that bike. I just think people need to back off on their opinions. Some opinions should be heard, others shouldn't have left their lips lol. Kyle knows his family best, we don't. Lets support him and not dictate what we think is the best for him or his family. He knows whats best!!! My two worthless cents!

Here is my opinion. We all know how there were/are "clicks" here, just like in everyday life. And if you weren't a part of a "click", and posted something, chances are your post didn't get many comments. Now if you were part of a "click", you could post the same thing, and watch that topic explode!!! And if for some reason you and a member of a "click" had a disagreement, then the "mob" mentality took over, and everyone wanted that one person's head. And it doesn't matter how much time had passed, or how the individuals handled it, it still happens. Sad but true

I don't know about that, Gator. I never saw a clique here in all the time I belonged. There are few groups of friends, but none in a manner that take over and gang up on others views. Unless it is obvious stupid stuff.

Totally get where you are coming from on the opinions being overstated at times Kyle, not so sure it has necessarily killed the forums or driven a substantial number of members off though. Sure a lot of times even with smileys posts get taken wrong. My reply to your bike thread for example was not in any way trying to discourage you from getting what you want, just what I might be inclined to do if it were me. Sure other members post similarly with their opinions. I did not read all the other replies before I replied, but went back after you posted this and read enough to see where it could be frustrating and get the reason you posted this.

Maybe its just me, but in a way think at times it is good to get other perspectives even those different from mine, might raise questions we might not have thought about. Guess what I am getting at is the opinions although sometimes seeming overbearing and not necessary are not always a bad thing.

As far as the lack of activity here, I cannot speak for anyone else, but I have just not had the time to get on here like I used to. Don't know at this point if the activity is much if any less than this time of the year in years past.
