IowaDeerHunter
Re: Shed hunting teams??? Just wanted to suggest that you might want to make a sticky post and post it at the top for signing up. How will we get points for teams, by shed score, or the amount of sheds. Or we caould have like the biggest US shed and biggest Canadian shed. Just a couple of ideas.
Saskbuck40
Re: Shed hunting teams??? Coun't me in. If this year is anything like last year i can expect around 20-30 sheds. This sounds like fun.
KANSAN
Re: Shed hunting teams??? I've been reading this post, and I've got several concerns. First of all, how could you make this an honest contest? I could see problems here with inflated shed numbers and/or scores. I'm not saying it will happen, and it would take a lot of trust in someone's word. I'm just a little leary about that. Another thing - HOW exactly WOULD you make point totals? Would it be by total number, or by biggest scoring side, or what? I'm also concerned with how the teams would be placed together. It seems like a couple people are pretty much running everything. I don't think that's quite fair. If you're going to plan teams, I think a drawing system would work better rather than just picking them. I also feel that a "team captain" isn't necessary, and just picking captains from Canada as being unfair. What if someone else wants to be a captain? I think if there's an absolute NEED for a captain, it should be by either a drawing or a voting system. I realize that the Canucks seem to find more sheds than those south of the border, and the idea of one of the Canadian shed enthusiasts on each team would be a fair way to go. I realize I haven't said much about this topic, and I apologize for it. I'm not trying to flex my muscle as a moderator, but since I'm listed in that capacity, I wanted to voice some of the concerns I have. I think a contest like this could be done, but it's not going to be easy to make it fair and honest. Personally, I'm not interested in joining the contest. But I think it needs some work if it's going to be done.

SaskBucks
Re: Shed hunting teams??? Like Cam says we'll make it just for fun and try to make categories that try to suit everyone...we will have to go on the honour (Canadian spelling) system, just like in Seinfeld, draw the names out of a hat and go from there...what do you think Jody? Turkeygirl
Re: Shed hunting teams??? The thing is, how is this not excluding small sheds? I don't find huge sheds but I want my sheds to count in my team's score? Maybe have something like a limit to the number of sheds each person in a team can enter or have some type of point system like 1 point for every tine over 2 inches or something. KANSAN
Re: Shed hunting teams??? I like the point idea ... maybe one point per tine or something?? I won't be on the computer again until Sunday, so I'll check back then and see if any new ideas popped up.
