Has anyone heard about this?

Quote:

Finally The Truth About Carbon Clothing?

“Finally the real truth about carbon clothing may be released. In a subpoena issued to Scent Blocker by Scentlok on July 15, 2010 to force Scent Blocker to make available all their sealed information and testing to the public. This is interesting in that Scentlok sealed all their depositions and testing from the public during their trial but now when it’s to their advantage they want the public to know. Interesting.(Attached is page 10 of the subpoena where Scentlok states that the public’s right to know overcomes Scent Blockers right to seal their testimony and testing)

The only way for the public will learn the truth is through the release of testing details and deposition testimony. Through the few details that have been released we have learned that inspite of Scentlok and Scent Blocker’s claims the court has found them guilty of not telling the truth.

They have been hiding from the public what they have known and have made million’s. Now with this new court case with the two companies now fighting among themselves the public should finally see the truth about carbon. Just the basic fact already revealed that there is only 23% coverage of carbon covering that is sealed to the fabric with adhesive makes Scentlok effective in doing anything to control human odor as Sentlok’s own expert testified under oath.”

yep i still own all my Scent Loc clothing and i will continue to keep buying it. there gear just flat out is comfortable, quiet, bowhunter friendly, well made and in the camo patterns i like.

why should i stop buying a product that works in every way that i want. sure it might be debateable as to the complete scent containment or scent elimination, but heck i knew that long before i ever bought it.

i will continue to buy Scent loc clothing and hope that they dont have to raise the price due to stupid lawers and this frivilous case.

At last, a warning shot fired across the bow of those in sporting goods manufacturing that want to lie to their customers, that there can be penalties for deceit and dishonesty. After listening to, and reading decades of total blatantly dishonest nonsense being spewed from such manufacturers, I say, "it's about time".

Hey Doc,

Part of the ruling in this suit was that Cabela's had to stop using terminology that implied or flat out stated "scent eliminating"...

I just got their latest catalog, and their newest hunting boots use Scent Eliminator linings...they just changed what was verbage into an actual name.:shifty:...I think it's a registered trademark, so the court can't touch it.

In other words...'Too bad for you Supreme Court...we'll do what we darn well choose...all within the rules, mind you...but we'll bend the rules when and where we see fit...':pop:

I don't really care one way or the other about this suit...but it just seems weaselly to me.

I agree with you on that Scent Lok offers some great quality clothing with some awesome camo patterns. If they raise their price tho I don't see how anyone making less than 100k a year can afford a simple pull over shirt???? Their pricing is a joke. They've done a great job marketing a product that has very little to do with scent aDsorbing. Could go on and on about this kind of gimic clothing, etc. Save your money and put as a down payment on something that does what it says it will do.

Ive never spent the big bucks on that stuff. I have two requirements, comfortable and Realtree. Its been that way since way back with Advantage timber.

Beyond that I couldnt spend the extra money for the hype. I never doubted it probably did a little but never believed it could be more effective than playing the wind, keeping your clothes outside, and wearing rubber boots.

I wonder if this will drag their prices down a little?!

Yeah, that's pretty arrogant, and just shows that truth in advertising laws need improvement. Nothing makes me angrier than to talk to some of today's newbies and listen to them excitedly repeating some of the way-out crazy advertising slogans and misleading marketing jargon as they prepare to become victims of this kind of flim-flam nonsense. I know that businesses need a little leeway in hawking their products, but somewhere this idea of spewing outright lies and deception needs to be stopped.
