Turkeygirl
Went to the 3D course with a counselor from camp to shoot. It was a Hoyt vs. Mathews showdown...the winner I will not mention, lol. Anyway afterwards, after years of using a tubing peep sight, I had a G5 3/16" Hunter peep installed.....need to re-adjust my sights slightly...arrows were all hitting high afterwards. I swear I can see my sight better and the bow is quieter and it's firing better. I like it already! The guy at the shop even let me keep a small allen wrench that I needed to adjust the sensitivity on my TruBall release...it was on it's factory setting so it seemed a touch hard to me. Good day:D
jdavis
I've been thinking about getting the same peep only in the 1/4". I've been having issues with the one I have on there now and getting it to line up correctly when I'm at full draw. I shot my brothers bow this weekend which has the G5 peep; it's much better than the one I have.
jm23494
I switched over to a 1/4" G5 peep last year and my groups tightened up quite a bit.
dbHunterNY
I shoot a 1/4" G5 Meta peep too. Seems to work good. My .029" pins at 50 and 60 yards are a bit large though. I was looking at the G5 Optix XR sight too.
RangerClay
Interesting thread Ruth. I was concidering whether to switch or not. I may have to now.
hunterbobb
I'm glad you like your new sight. When I first saw your thread I thought it meant something else. "MEN" seems like we only have one thing on our minds. :angel2:
okiedog
I have shot the Meta peep for a few years now and really like them. I keep a few of all the sizes in my box. 3D and targets I usually shoot 3/32" or 1/8", hunting I switch to a 1/4" or 5/16".
Turkeygirl
So I went to shoot my bow Monday and found when I hook my release on and draw, my string is twisting and my peep is twisting something horrible...my shots are way off what they were prior to, so I'm attributing it to the peep being twisted...??? Going in to the bow shop this weekend hopefully to get it straightened out, what a pain.
ruttinbuc
This is the reason for the tube in the first place. The tube always pulls the peep to where it needs to be. On some bows it can be very difficult to get the peep to align where it should. The problem is in the bow string. Hope they can get it working for you, TG. jdavis
I just had one put on a few days ago and had the same problem only not as bad. I just had to twist my string loop to one side a little. Instead of the loop running straight off the back side of the string it's offset maybe 45 degrees. This causes the string to twist slightly when you draw back which will also twist your peep. May be worth giving it a try if you use a string loop.
johnf
Interesting thread Ruth. I was concidering whether to switch or not. I may have to now. Make sure you've got a good set of strings on your bow. I had the factory strings on my old bow and the peep turned about every 3 shots. I've got Winners Choice on my new bow and have not had to turn it after probaboy 500 shots so far.
Turkeygirl
I've got a good set on. Will take it in Monday I think....I'm guessing the string loop needs to be adjusted or the string twist adjusted...
johnf
So does the peep turn after a few shots or is it always turned. Mine turned about ever third shot. My new bow has never been turned.
