Salt/Mineral Blocks

Not sure how many people do this but it's been invaluable to me over the past 4 years for getting pictures. I use one of each on my cameras during the summer. It's amazing. I average 600-700 pics per week on my one camera and that's with single exposure every 1 minute! Of course follow your state laws when it comes to baiting but if legal during the summer I highly recommend it. Not only does it draw deer in, but its a great source of minerals for those growing bucks!

Yep...same here. We have 20 mineral licks scattered around our place to pick from for trail cam sets. My pic numbers don't get as high as yours on mineral licks but they make great sets. A week long set for me on a mineral lick using a Cudde with the same exposure rate can range from ~25 to ~400. The average is ~100/week. It's generally higher if it rains during the week.

Right now I have 2 Cudde cams running on mineral licks, 3 Cuddes on protein feeders, and my 2 Reconyx cams are set on summer food plots.

I have a mineral block out all year that gets plenty of activity and in the non-freezing months I keep a water trough filled that also gets daily activity. The water trough is visible from the house and the mineral block is about 100 feet beyond that. There is a small clover patch that sits adjacent to the mineral block. We see a lot of deer activity and get some great game cam pics from these setups. Our property is a non-hunting zone but just seeing the deer is a bonus.
