Got one

Well I finally found the deal I've been waiting on for a bike. Looking over craigslist lastnight I found a 2008 Suzuki GSF 500 with 3000 miles on it for $2500. It was super cheap, and I even offered the guy 2300 and he took it. He just bought a GSXR 600 and needed the money he owed on this bike to help pay for it.

It's not a flashy fast bike by any means, but it's a good bike for a beginner. Plus when I wreck it, its fairly cheap to work on and fix. I gave it my first ride just a little bit ago and had a blast. It was definitely tricky and I got alot to learn before I hit the roadway. I didn't ride but for about 30 mins, but it was a blast.

I am gonna put around Cokeburg for a few days, maybe even a week or two after work before going on the road. I wasn't completely comfortable with taking off and stopping.

Anyways, just wanted to pass on the good news. I'm excited and will have pics tomorrow.

It looks exactly like this....same colors and all.

Next time you take it out, push on the handle bars one at a time. It will turn you in the opposite direction than what you push. It is called counter steering and will help you out. Good Luck, Be safe, and have fun Kyle!

Man didn't you listen to any of the advice anyone gave you around here? That money could have been put to good use elsewhere and don't you know how dangerous those things are? :D :D :D :2guns:

Congratulations on the new bike, it looks like a great bike....hope you enjoy it. For some reason I thought you were an established rider already.

In all seriousness, enjoy.

Congrats on the new to you bike Kyle!

Dang Tom...you beat me to the punch. I was going to post the same pic with the thought that with the $200 Kat negotiated off the deal he could still buy an old fashion bike and haul a deer out like that. :D

Congrats on the deal Kat.:cool2:

Congrats on the bike Kyle! Sounds like you got the idea. Drive around town for a while, get the hang of it, and have fun. You'll find that thing doesn't burn much gas at all. It probably gets like 50 mpg if you're going easy. My dad has a 500 he drives to and from work during the summer. Be safe buddy!
