jesse8953
Just learned at work a friend of mine took his own life yesterday.I have known this guy for 25 years. He helped me get a job this last February. He got fired in May,June he got a domestic violence charge and seperated from his wife after that.I know he had lots of problems but I don't think life can get bad enough to kill yourself. This makes the 2nd friend, I went to school with, that has commited suicide.I just don't get it. R.I.P. The_Kat
We've all known someone whose taken their own life. I will never understand why someone would do such a thing. It solves nothing... Sorry to hear the sad news bud. Prayers for the family are on the way.
Bob LeBlanc
I will never understand why someone would do such a thing. It solves nothing... QUOTE] When a person enters such a deep state of depression, they lose their ability for rational thought. We have a hard time grasping / understanding how they could commit such an act...because we are still rational...thinking straight, in other words. I'd bet we all know people who act very differently when they've had a few too many to drink...who'll do things they otherwise wouldn't consider. Well, it's very much the same with the chemical imbalance that depression can bring on. It's imperative to keep an eye out for people who may become / are clinically depressed. They aren't themselves...and they need someone to look over them. I lost an acquaintance, from another hunting forum, to suicide several years ago. On the night he committed suicide, I was online with him and didn't recognize the signs. His son corresponded with me for a couple of years after that... Yes, it's hard for us to understand...and even harder to accept the result of suicide. Do some research and learn to recognize the signs of depression. Most of us know the signs of alcoholism, drug addiction, heart attack, stroke...depression can be just as deadly. Bob
Jeramie
Thats tough. Sorry to hear it. Very sorry for his family. Thats a very selfish way to end things as far as family is concerned.

wtnhunt
Sorry to hear that Jesse. Very sad and unfortunately like Kyle said most of us probably do know someone who has taken their own life. Hard to understand what drives a person to do such a thing, but like Bob said some people lose their ability to think rationally.
LifeNRA
Sucks indeed. My friend, best man, and almost like a brother took his life 10 years ago. I know the feeling.
