texastrophies
My son turned 16 and got his license a little while ago. He has been telling me for quite some time that when he got his license he would get my truck and I would need to get a new one. Yesterday afternoon I was able to hand him the keys to my 2006 pickup with 185,000 miles on it when we went to pick up my 2011 version. Here it is. Ethan Givan
Nice truck. Does that have the 6.6 liter Duramax diesel or the 6.0 liter? I know a guy that has the 6.6 L and that thing is awesome. Its no slouch either, it will smoke the tires.
texastrophies
Your son is spoiled ..LOL I know, and what is worse yet is he knows. But I tell him I don't mind so much as long as he continues to get straight A's in school, wrong or right, I consider that an acceptable trade off. I also tell him that he is going to be in for a shock when he gets out in the real world.

Haven't got on it real had yet, but it does seem to have more power than my '06 D-max has.
Tominator
Good deal Chuck. My wife keeps telling me I need a new truck, but mine is paid off. LOL.
Jeramie
I bet you both are thrilled... I would be. I would love to move up to the crew cab and a 3/4 ton but my 01 F150 extended cab is paid off too. Hard to justify that payment. Luckily I just use it around the house. Shaun_300
Awesome truck Jeff! Hope you enjoy it. The new 2011 D-max is 395hp and 765lb ft of torque. Depending what engine is in the 2006, could be either a LLY or LBZ. The LLY has 300hp and 520lb ft of torque, the LBZ has 360hp and 650lb ft of torque. Easiest way is to look at the tach, the LLY's redline is 3200RPM and the LBZ is at 3450RPM. Either way you gained some power. Hope they told you about the $300 worth of diesel exhaust fluid you have to put in it every 10,000 miles.
