Worked off a ladder hanging ceiling boards as high as I could reach then rented two sets of scaffold for the week last Tuesday. Figures it would end up being the hottest week of the year, was pretty warm up nearly 18 feet when the outside heat indexes neared 120.

Never really been afraid of heights, but the few falls from the ladder earlier on sure have made for being more cautious and maybe working a little slower, took a little longer than I expected, but got it done and returned the scaffold this morning. Thankfully most of what we have left should be able to be done from ladders. All the outside staining is done.

With the exception of a few odds and ends the great room ceiling is done. Was not able to find the antique brass trim rings for the recessed lights at lowes, probably going to be a special order item. All the lights were tested and work though. Wife is happy with the end result. Thought it turned out pretty good all things considered.

Few in progress pics, lot of miter cuts.

Will be back to working with sheet rock and greenboard in the basement this week.

Kids rooms. Have not sprayed Nicoles ceiling yet, but it is primed and ready.

Allison's room, thought the ceiling turned out pretty decent for the first time spraying a ceiling.

Very nice. Once you get through with it, you will be able to sit back and enjoy how nice it is and also have the pride of doing it yourself.

Amen to that Jeff. Certainly will have a deep appreciation for all we went through to get it done.

I remember when somebody said they'd be in their new home before me. LOL

:poke::boxing::D

Maybe so Chris, honestly don't remember that though. Thought I had said pretty well all along you would be in yours before we would even though we broke ground before you did. Have known all along I would be finishing out all aspects of the interior myself, did not know though that we would have so many other problems and unexpected things(setbacks) to come up. Unfortunately we still have issues we are dealing with that are holding us up, pretty screwed up situation really.

Looks real nice william! Hanging those ceiling boards (siding) is a pain! There is never a straight one in the pile.... :D

Had to fight with a few and learned a few tricks along the way for forcing the boards in. Wouldn't ya know that the last few runs stretching working over my head would be a bear, nothing that couldn't be overcome though.

That's why I used one of these ------> :D Most people really don't know what it takes to build a house. To be honest, a lot of it was more stress than fighting cancer.

Hang in there. Tom was right when he kept telling me it will all be worth it in the end. We are still on cloud 9 with this house.

Looking great William, gonna be a great place to call home.

Yep, it was / will be worth it in the end. As for the stress, I guess we didn't have it in our place. Sure, there were things that happened that were unexpected, but we dealt with it all as it came, and had really no issues. I don't remember being really "stressed" that much, if at all, during our build.

Wow! Tom was right? Never thought I'd hear you say that:D.

William...The house looks just beautiful :). Lots of sweat equity there for sure.

The wood just makes it look so warm and comfortable.

Be careful on those ladders and now you are in the home stretch.

Nice work William.

Yep, stress with this has been pretty bad and defnitely looking forward to the time we can look back. Been a lot of headaches that were totally unnecessary due to uncooperative folks we did business with. Unfortunate lessons to have to learn.

Looking great bud! Can I shoot my bow out of my bedroom? We could put up a target downstairs. :D

Ummm, well remember me telling you about practicing shooting elevated before my trip up to your place bud?;) That pic was from last year before the windows were in, screens pop out pretty easy. Guess I should practiced a little more straight down.:o:rolleyes:

btw, archery lane planned for the basement will allow for 20 yard practice sessions, indoors.:D
